Has anyone else had their electric bill go sky high? Last year we were getting a 370 dollar electric bill. This year they are $570. I just spoke with the rep at the co_op and it's because of increasing fuel costs. We are using the same KWH.

See if you can get Green Mountain Energy www.greenmountainenergy.com/ in your area. Boss said his bill went down by half and to try them. I did, and mine also went down by half, as did my sister's and mom's after I recommended them.

This is big on the news over here. The resulting gas prices has meant that 2 American fertiliser plants that produce 60% of the UK's carbon dioxide have gone bust and now it'll affect many many things - chicken and pork might be off the shelves within a few days. Not sure about packaging and carbonated drinks. It's not looking great.
I haven't checked my bill, but I'm expecting it to hit us soon.

In Houston we had a couple of dozen providers and I could shop for the lowest price every year.

So far (KOW) my elec bill has been stable and less than I thought it would be with the new A/C installation. Usually about $80 in summer, it went up to $105 last month. Meat prices are kinda crazy, but I just got my deer tags for this year's seasons. I can take seven deer and will be doing my own processing. I don't need seven and will prolly settle for three, if I think I need even that many. Might give some to folks that need 'em. What times we live in!

Mine took a big jump a couple months ago, but the bill said it was due to usage. I'd just accept that, it being summer in the south, but it's never jumped that much before.

The lady at the co_op said that the gas prices have tripled in a year.

I am seeing everything increase, the inflation gains made this year have wiped out the wage gains over the last four years.
I wonder what the cause is…. 🙄

Might be the last day we need A/C this year. We'll get about a month before we have to turn the furnace on.

No they laid off half the roundhouse and half the car department and now everything is falling apart literally. So I have still been looking at different jobs. Going to check a different one out soon up the hill in Grass Valley. Forestry job that is were I was the happiest so that is where I am looking. A conductor I know in Dunsmuir suggested his Mom and Step-dads business too me.

It was just a comment that there has been an increase in everything, electricity is just another goods/ service.
The supply chain has had a major impact on supply vs demand.

Supply of gov. money to people sitting on duff is too high. The rush to get off butt and get job does not meet demand for workers.

This was my first real summer with central air that I had installed last fall. I think my largest bill was about $115, and that's because we had a visitor from Alaska that was too warm. But our gasoline bills are terrible, ranging from three and a half dollars and a gallon to about $4 a gallon.

Gas jumped from 2.69 a couple weeks ago to about 2.99 here for regular. Haven’t really noticed a jump in my electric bill or gas bill. Seems to be around the same as it was last year
