I very intermittently remember I suck at using this thread for what it's for.
I generally only get in 1 bowl a day, if that. Generally, I'm smoking some kind of Virgina blend. Sometimes something more burley-forward, like Haunted Bookshop. Usually LBF, Marlin Flake, HH Pure Virginia, OGS, CH, etc. I'll sneak in an English here and there.

Haven't had Carter Hall in ages. I don't smoke OTCs much these days. Gave most of them a try, they all seemed very mild to me. And perpetually wet.

I'm not used to anybody being here when I'm posting, so I tend to post and run. I haven't tried most of the OTCs. Actually, I'm not sure I've tried any of them but CH. I've started to buy some Granger about 50 times, but always find something I want to try more. Haven't had PA or any of the SWR's. Haven't had Half/Half. I do have a pouch of Velvet, but haven't tried it, and I have some LLRR. Not sure if that qualifies, since it's not officially the old OTC. I find CH smokes well regardless of moisture content. Dunno how they do it. Lighter fluid casing? Dunno, but it burns smooth and steady and cool for me.

CD HB in a MM Legend. Our electricity was out yesterday and finally came on after midnight. It was nice to start coffee this morning, but I'm a little sick from eating all that soupy ice cream.

Peterson Sweet Killarny in my Dunhill Bruyere 4101 Apple (2015). Black tea on the side. This tobacco is far from deserving the trashing session it gets on Tobacco reviews!

October 14th. The seasons are beginning to shift here in the midwest with a chilly rain today. Having come to the end of my orcilla blend I needed to open a new tin of something. So I went for blockade runner and a first bowl in the pete x105 newgrange spigot. BR was one of the first blends that steered me to try more cornell&diehl offerings and today I have been reminded how good the blend is. I like black frigate better as it has more flavor but BR has a great "Core" tobacco taste and a well done rum topping that works well. honestly, I feel pleased to have almost two pounds in hand I really do not like toppings with dreams of kadath (c&d old ones series) being one exception. while the topping is overused it does not go "bad" in a bowl and the berry overtones were reasonable. I dont buy that blend anymore but for a heavily topped blend it is not too bad. BR has good manners from first light to final draw and power is good enough that a single bowl satisfies. of course having a year of resting helps! hope all are well and having a favorite bowl at the time of reading this post!

Smoking some just freshly opened Sutliff Crumble Kake VA Perique. Not the tin pictured, which is long gone. In this RDP strawberry briar blasted bulldog.

Sutliff have really been knocking it out of the park with these tinned Crumble Kake Red VA based releases. In my opinion, the best red Virginia on the market since C&D Carolina Red Flake original small batch release, and McClelland's before it.

Smoking C&D Sun Bear in the first J. Everett pipe sold. Bought a small bent nosewarmer from him several years back while I was out rockhounding. I took a short break in my truck, saw Jason offer it up for sale, here I think, and I got it for $60. I have three of his pipes and have commissioned a fourth.
