Did Basil retire? I ask since you used past tense. I understand that he can no longer make pipes because of health issues. Correct. Basil had open heart surgery in the spring of 2020 and has not been physically able to make pipes. Otherwise, he is doing great. He’s doing cnc wood carving now. This Lovat was one of his last six available pipes.

The morning started off with me finishing up a pipe that I found I hadn't finished from the day before.... I think it was squadron leader. Very tasty actually, even though it sat in the pipe half smoked from the night before.
Then it was some more Carter Hall in my Smokers Haven commissioned pipe. (between us girls, I just might keep "breakin that one in", just as a plausible excuse to smoke CH... ;-) )
Then it was off to the golf course and the obligatory 4 or 6 cigars.
Tonight after a couple of grilled pork chops, cards and a netflix movie with Blondie, she's headin to bed and I'm up here with you schleps, er, uhm..... you fine gentlemen.... ;-P
First bowl of the evening in some 2011 Penzance in one of my bent billiards, Buffalo Trace in the glass and youtube on the tellie....
cheers

I don't have many Dunhills (5), this one might be my favorite. Maybe because it deviates a little from the standard shape chart. Dodgers are having some fun tonight.

Having some OJK in the Nording signature freehand with the morning coffee. I wasn't too sure about this blend at first, but it is definitely growing on me.

Went up to Warren Dunes State Park yesterday afternoon and walked the beach, hiked up the dunes, and got nearly eaten alive by Insidious Flower Bugs that were for some reason voracious for human flesh. I took a couple pipes and Scarecrow and 2016 Haunted Bookshop with me but didn't ever really catch time to leisurely smoke. Smoked Scarecrow in a Leonessa Briosa rusticated slight bent apple in the car, smoked several bowls of Sir Walter Raleigh that morning and the evening prior.
Now smoking 2016 Haunted Bookshop in a new MM Let Freedom Ring 5th Ave.
