It's always nice to pull out something kind of special to smoke for the holidays. Anyone already have a plan for Turkey Day?

I'll probably have Giblet Stuffing in an Avian Abdominal Cavity.
Unless I can find that jar of Peretti Thanksgiving.

Not real interested in making a turkey...just me and the wife and the pooch...she can't eat turkey and I don't want to make her smell that bird cooking and she can't have any of it...so we'll have a frozen dinner and pooch will have some steak.
Special to smoke...maybe some of AJ's 1st blend...a home blend by a friend...it's been aging for 6 years and should be pretty good.
Thankful for my friends here on the Patch...that's all I really need.

Sounds good, Walt ... I prefer chicken over turkey myself. Hope you have a great day!

Think I'm going to load up the smoker with a couple of turkey legs and wings and let the? Smoke for 10 hours with some apple wood. Then while the cooking is going on I will dig though the stash of tins and see if I have some University Flake or pull out a plug of Jack knife.

If it gets here in time, I'll light up a bowl of WCC's Simply VOriental, which is a T'giving-only release. If it doesn't, I'll have whatever I darn well please.

Some nice sounding foods and smokes so far!
I'll be smoking Motzek Strang in the morning and have selected a special cigar for after the meal. It's a Davidoff Royal Robusto Original (pre-release).

I'm taking the non creative route, and will be trying some WCC Thanksgiving Day Blend I recently ordered. Probably a roasting hen from the far down the street.

I didn't ask for it, but I was gifted a 22 pound bird, bigger than what I like to smoke but when it is free... I will be spending most of the day smoking for a few hours and switching to roasting that bird and quite a bit of southwestern stuffing..cornbread, chayote squash, Hatch chile, Jalapeno, etc....
I will probably be primarily smoking the Sansepolcro from 2016 since I cracked it during the day, but will mix it up as the day goes on.

Great stuff aint it, I've been cellaring about a pound of it for some time now and it's all covered with crystals, gona be a splendid smoke if I do say myself. There won't be no turkey this year so I have to have something I can really enjoy, LOL!

My wife's getting over a bad cold, so it'll just be the two of us this Thanksgiving. A small free range turkey raised locally is in the works. And a definite slow smoke in the morning.

I bought a 24.5lb bird for 6 adults and 3 children. Why? BECAUSE. Just to cook a bird beast. I'll send leftovers home with everyone. All the fixins, even succotash. Pies-a-plenty, too. For smokes - probably some kind of GH rope - 2005 Rum Twist, Brown Irish, Bogie, Black Irish, maybe some SG Brown #4 that I've been neglecting (I love the stuff, but don't have a ton cellared, so I'm judicious). Probably some Cuban Mixture in there somewhere. That sh|t is the bees knees.
ETA: oh, and copious amounts of hi-nic snuff. How else will I get through the day?

Thankfully it will be just us this year and we love turkey! I’ve got a Butterball thawing and we’re planning a simple dinner of favorites. I’ll smoke a big pipe watching the parade and I’ve got a cigar in mind for the afternoon while watching the Butterball roast/ smoke in the Weber.

Planning on sharing some 2002 Christmas Cheer with my boys, as well as popping open a 4 oz tin of 2001 Marlin Flake.
Might even open one of my last Blantons bottles as well?
cheers

Well, that’s 2 less adults and 1 less kid for my ridiculously large bird. Yay Covid!
