Do an A-Team number and drug yourself. You'll be on the Emerald Isle before you know it. After that, I'll look after you. Just bring two tubs of Carter Hall with you urbino Good call - and some Blood Red Moon please.

Booker's, Old Grand Dad's cask strength, Dickel 12 Rye, and Bulleit Rye and regular bourbon are my personal favorites. I love regular Old Grand Dad's bonded 100 proof.

I only take a sip a few times a year, But somebody's been looking at my wish list. Old Grand Dad bonded is a family favorite, and Dickel 12 Rye has been in the must try section since it came out. I don't think I've been in an ABC in five years; I might spring for that Rye this year. In truth I was gifted the entire contents of a well stocked bar back in 2012. Names like Dewers, Beefeaters, Pinch ,and God knows what, enough to fill the trunk of the wife's Crown Vic...been working along at a slow pace, no scotch left, nor rye.

Herb, the same for me. It's the end of 2021 now and I've probably had 10 shots of whiskey total the entire year. Glad to hear Old Grand Dad bonded 100 also being a favorite of others. The Dickel rye is excellent and more a dry rye than that of Bulleit rye, which I find to be much sweeter.

I only have Sazerac rye because I only use it to make Sazerac cocktails.

I keep OGD 114 around for cocktails.
It's hard for me to take an interest in any of the Dickel whiskeys. I had a boss who was a big fan of them. I was not a big fan of him.

Well, my order for Redbreast, Green Spot, and Eagle Rare fell through. Couldn't get the place to ship the dang order.
Guess I'm back on the whiskey market.

Oh and it’s whisky!

Has anyone tried High West's A Midwinter Night's Dram? It's a limited release/allocated blend of straight rye whiskeys finished in port and French oak barrels. It's usually released in the late Autumn for holiday season consumption and gifting. No one carries it in the Bayou State and it can't be shipped across state lines directly to customers here. Is it really that special and worth Germain's/Esoterica tobacco style pricing and unobtainability?

Had some Midwinter at a family holiday gathering last weekend. We had a bottle here last winter, too. Good stuff, but not worth me hunting for it.

Yeah, I have come to the conclusion that if you can find something relatively easy to acquire that delivers the goods. And, it delivers the goods for a discount far below chasing limited release/ Unicorn blends… stick with the one you know. If however, you are at a point in life where you are the patriarch, and the kids can afford it, when they request advice on what you want explore the choices.

I've tried "The Busker" Irish whiskey. I thought it was pretty good, in my limited experience. Guess I should try some Bushmills too.

Bushmills isn't my favorite, but you can't really say that you've had Irish whiskey if you haven't tasted it. I recommend the Black Bush.

Picked up a new one recently ... High West Whiskey's "American Prairie Bourbon". It's a blend but pretty darn good.

For a non peat whisky, Glenmorangie is my favorite. I don’t know why, but I can’t stand any Irish whiskey.
