A little bit of the basic Four Roses Bourbon. In a Knob Creek-branded glass.

Another Bulleit pre-mixed Old Fashioned. Enjoying the pleasant evening on the back porch, before the snow arrives. Still 80 degrees right now. Perfect. It us supposed to be in the 40s by lunch time tomorrow and snowing around dinner time and getting into the low 30s overnight. Glad I haven’t set out my garden plants yet.

OF 1920.
Haven't been around much. Work, work, work. Thought things would settle back down quicker than this.

Franziskaner Hefe Weizen. A good one, when you're in for a wheat.

Busy all day travelling all over central Illinois putting flowers on family graves. When we got home, we relaxed on the back patio.
I had a Whiskey Sour, then a couple of Old Fashions. Used Four Roses "Yellow Label" for the drinks. It's their cheapest stuff, but great for cocktails.
My wife had a couple glasses of a light, sweet wine called "Electra" by Quady. It's made from an orange Moscato grape in a Moscato d’Asti style. An excellent wine even if you don't care for sweet wines.

Quite a commendable exercise Monty considering what the holiday weekend is all about. Regardless of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice on foreign lands, or those that tended to things at home, those things were instrumental in helping those that did make the ultimate sacrifice. We are all cogs in this wheel of life, and I think that it is appropriate to spend time reflecting on those that have gone before us, and that their legacy informs us on how to conduct ourselves.
