Noah's Mill Bourbon, 114 proof, from Willet Distillary I've tried to buy that a few times. I buy it on their web site, then I get there to pick up my order and they tell me they're out. I guess they don't do a great job of keeping their online stock up to date. What do you think of it?

I bought it at their Visiters Center store when I visited their distillary, and others, last April. I opened the bottle last night and drank it poured over an ice ball. It was good. Very smooth with some spicey rye flavors. I was surprised to find it was 114 proof - I had forgotten that. It didn't taste that strong. I'll have to drink it neat next time to get the full range of flavors.

Some Highland Park 12. Continues to be 1 of my 2 go-to scotches. That was my favorite Malt for many years. Fond memories of living in London and drinking it at the bar of the Connaught Hotel. The only reason they would serve this Yank was I knew my Malts and dressed appropriately- proper suit, tie, polished cap toe shoes. You cannot imagine how they were then. Few Americans welcome to stay, dine or sip.

I must have let the ice melt and dilute it more than I thought the night before. The alcohol bite was strong! The spicey flavors were strong too. Definately a cinnamon flavor with other spicey notes. I won't be drinking this one neat again! Wow!

Had a tallboy can of Stone Brewery Delicious IPA 7.7%ABV (I'm already tired of IPAs once again) and then a couple small sips of 100 proof BIB Old Grand Dad's.

Old Forester 1920 is 115 proof, and I could drink that neat all day (from a flavor standpoint). Wilderness Trail makes one around that proof, and I like it neat, too. OTOH, Old Granddad 114 makes a good cocktail, but neat it's mostly just raw heat, to me. Others like it neat. Anyway, thanks for the update, Monty. I'll continue keeping an eye out for it.

We had an "Asian Night" menu once per week. One of my Chef's lived in Japan for several years and learned well. The Thai's make good lager style beers.

This morning it is Cafe Bustelo made camp style with demerara sugar in the enameled camp pot. Likely I will drink it all this morning. Owing to the Prednisone, went to bed at 0330 and woke up at 0850. Groggy until the next dose of Prednisone kicks in this morning. I am still trying to get past this skin ailment.

Had a Guinness Foreign Extra stout. AND? How was it? New to me. They've been my favorite Guinness for probably 13 years or so at this point. They're really good.(First brewed by Guinness in 1801, used to be called West India Porter) A simple description for the Foreign Extra would be if you took Guinness draught which is mellow and smooth but then added extra hops to it and bittered it up quite a bit more. More ABV (7.5%) and kind of a crossover flavor between a dark stout and added IPA bitterness.

Irish Coffee! It is cold enuf to make that welcome.
Our little liquor store just over the border in Colorado, where it is possible to actually get a license for spirits without paying a half million dollars, stocks Jameson regular, for $30 per bottle. That is the most expensive I have seen for Jameson. At least they have it if one can afford it.
