Took the day off to drive my wife to her doctor today. She's getting an MRI to check on her injuries from the accident in March. She can't do the normal MRI, she has to have the stand-up machine. The only place that has one is downtown Phoenix, so we went over there after dropping my daughter off at college. Turns out, the machine is broken and they couldn't get ahold of her because we forgot to update her phone number with the place...
Ahh well, she rescheduled for a day my daughter can drive her so I don't have to take more time off work. Still, a relaxing day without having to go to work was worth it!

A great attitude that you have about it! Still, it would be nice if someone could have called the referring physician to get an active number.

My new Dunhill from the Columbus Show arrived today. Two days from SC to Michigan. 😎 Best of all, it was listed as a Shell Briar but is actually a Ring Grain. 😎 2021 Dunhill Ring Grain group 3 Quaint Acorn. Although they stamped it group 3, it is actually slightly smaller than my Dunhill group 1 Billiard and Apple.

Nice haul, Pete! That Caminetto looks a bit heavy for me, but it's sure handsome. Nice find.
And thanks for the heads-up that SP has those 2 McConnell blends in stock.

Interesting. I could deal with 50 grams. It looks like it'd be heavier than that. And now I have some Scottish Cake and Flake in the mail.

Ordered meself one o' them ozone machines to supplement the air purifier. You can't run those critters while you're in the place (or you're not supposed to, anyway), but I shouldn't need to run it a ton, anyway. I'll leave it going while I'm at the office 2 days a week. That should keep any slowly accumulating odor better at bay.

2 tins arrived today of the Sutliff Whimsical Birds of a Feather release.
I went to the B&M and picked up five different tins and a couple cigars.
a 4/2017 tin of C&D Repose: Serenity Series a 4/2020 tin of G.L. Pease Laurel Heights a fresh 3/2022 tin of C&D House Reserve (A cavendish, burley, and VA blend that is specially made for brick and mortar shops Found out only 1k tins were made of this for the 2020 release, not sure about 2021 but for this spring 2022 release, there were only 1,200 tins sold exclusively in B&Ms) a 6/2019 tin of G.L. Pease Embarcadero (which I'll open soon to save my other aging tins cellared of this blend) and a fresh tin of the C&D Jolly Old St. Nicholas
2 Factory Smokes by Drew Estates cigars in Maduro robusto and Churchill
These cigars look and smell amazing for only $2.50 and $2.85 per stick from the B&M walk in humidor. By Drew Estates, I expect they'll be great.

Sounds like I might get out of the hospital on Wednesday. 😎 I was being and adult and holding off buying a pipe on my wishlist, but decided "F*ck it! Life could be short!" So, my get well soon present to myself has been ordered: a 2019 Dunhill Cumberland 3101 Apple. www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/dunhill/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=489640One interesting thing, even though I have pneumonia, my O2 saturation has been 95 to 97 since I got here and I have received no supplemental oxygen. I’m no longer lugging around a portable heart monitor just pushing around an IV tower. When for short hallways walks today. Found that I can take a leisurely stroll without pausing for deep breaths if I pull my mask below my nose and don’t obstruct the airflow. I can go maskless in my room.

Sweet Duane! Is that considered a bent Dublin? Who carved it? I like that Acorn shape! A bent acorn carved by my sorely missed buddy Bruce Weaver. Not as fun as working out the details of a commission over the phone with him or watching him carve a pipe I've asked for, but getting his pipes in the mail keeps the spirit of my friendship with him alive for me.

Glad to hear that, John! Pneumonia is no joke… I had it in the 80’s, and it was an unruly beast to deal with, more so now with Covid and all that nonsense.
When SP posts a video of a pipe coming your way, there is a reason that they do so! I only have two that reached that mark.
Godspeed, brother!
