Dunhill's probably at the top of the list of my favorites. Classic shapes and lines. Consistently good quality. Mine ar all Group 4 size, with one Group 6. People talk about how expensive they are, but if you go to SP and look at pricing across their better quality pipes, they are all pretty competitive with Dunhill.

Darktater just got me to thinking with his 2019 Dunhill. The kids are always asking me what I want, and I am never any help. I should start asking for birth year Dunhills of their children. It’s a 2109 not 2019. 2109 = Group 2, tapered stem, shape 09 (Canadian). |

I have a smooth finish Grabow redwood on the way, as well as some 6 & 9mm adapters. Someone warned that pipes meant to take filters need adapters to prevent excess moisture from soaking into (and subsequently weakening) the shank. From what I've read here, nobody seems too concerned about this happening, but the adapters were cheap and I figure I'll give them a try. If I don't like them, I'll find a place to store them. I'm excited about the Grabow. I smoke the Icarus from fadingdaylight almost every day, and none of the other pipes I've bought have come close to it for comfort/balance, looks, or ease of cleaning. I'm hoping the redwood will. |

 No pipes or tobbaco, my Wife found an oyster fork at a junk store, was raving how hard they are to find and expensive. They are 6 inches long, 3 tines and the outer ones turn out. Went to my Favorite place in NC, Replacements Lic, got her 4 with shipping almost 50$, that’s gonna be her Valentines.

Not in the mail yet, but I’m excited to have won my first Ashton in an auction yesterday. It's a Bill Taylor made 1993 Pebble Grain XXX Liverpool. What makes me especially excited is that it’s UNSMOKED!!! 😀😀😀 For something as rare as hen's teeth that had 70 watchers, it didn’t run up as high as I thought it might. Maybe the auction ending the afternoon of the Super Bowl helped. 🤔

For a nice change of pace, USPS 2 Day Priority actually arrived in 2 days. I haven’t seen that happen in quite a while. I won the auction on Sunday afternoon, the seller dropped it off at the PO in San Diego on Tuesday afternoon and it was in my mailbox by 10am this morning (Thursday). As I mentioned previously, this is my first Ashton. It’s an unsmoked Bill Taylor made 1993 Pebble Grain XXX Liverpool. It’s got a great ring grain blast which my pics don’t do justice to.
