“ I have a flootstand that Looks like that. I just need the correct ashtray to go with it. Says Dunhill on the bottom.” Mine is a Decatur, a lesser pedigree! There is an ashtray out there somewhere, I hope it finds its way to you, Kevin. My wife goes to a lot of thrift stores to flip product at the consignment store, I will show her mine and ask her to keep an eye out. Better get the diameter.

Pretty good progress on shipping… I won an auction Thursday evening. The seller shipped the package from Montreal on Friday. It arrived at US Customs in NYC this morning (Sunday) at 4am and cleared Customs by 11am. Tracking shows an estimated delivery on Thursday, but I’m optimistically thinking it won’t take 4 days to get to Michigan from New York…
In the package is my second Danish made Stanwell Silver S. 😀

Just arrived: some C&D blending tobaccos from the 20% off sale, and a healthy serving of Jocks Mixture.

Just got a package today from the 20% off sale. All tobacco I have not tried yet. Haunted Bookshop, Engine 99, Pegasus, and a tin of CAO’s Eileen’s Dream, which was not part of the 20% off. Looking forward to trying them.

I wanted to try them. It may be in vain. It seems I really only like English blends.

If you find the Pegasus to be a bit harsh, set it aside for 6 months and try it again. I find fresh Pegasus to be too harsh and it smooths out nicely with a wee bit of age.

I just tried Haunted Bookshop, since Burley is used in cigarette tobacco, it tasted like a cigarette. I didn’t like it at all. I will sporadically try again. I have smoked tobaccos that I did not care for at first, then loved it, like Presbyterian. I don’t hold out much hope for the burley forward blends.

There are some pipe smokers that say that they smoke no Burley under five years age, and at that point it really delivers the goods for them. YMMV: Your mileage may vary though.

Just in this evening...a healthy size bag of Watch City's Old Black Magic, from msokeefe. Dark and moist chunks of all sizes, with a pungent aroma of earth and slightly burnt brownies, with a whisper of perique. There's a small amount in my dry tray as I type. Thanks so much, Mark!

Tracking predicted delivery for tomorrow but it showed up today. 😀 My sixteenth Stanwell arrived from Montreal today. It is a Silver S shape 12 large Billiard. For those not familiar with Stanwell pipes, Silver S was the rare top of the line grade for Danish made Stanwells. The only thing higher was the ultra ultra ultra rare Golden S. This is the second Silver S in my collection.

Got this in the mail today. It's stamped "PUJ", "HANDMADE", "DENMARK". Pipedia says, "Yet another Danish mystery pipe from the "Fancy" period. If you have any information about this brand, or who made them, please add it here, or send it to .....". Got it fairly cheap on Etsy, since there was no stem - but I figured a stem from one of my Sorens or Ben Wades would fit it. These are a couple of photos posted on Etsy. Not in bad shape, but some blackening on part of the rim. After just a few minutes with alcohol, the rim is looking much better. I'll spend more time on it later. Here it is with a Ben Wade stem attached. I'll clean up the rim, clean up and maybe darken the plateau - and give it a good polishing.

Good call on your part, Monty that stem looks like it was made for that pipe! Really nice plateau, on the front porch and the back porch. My Google-Fu ended up where you did it seems. pipedia.org/wiki/PUJI have some pipes that are foggy on who made them that are incredible smokers, it looks like a diamond in the rough you have.

Better watch out with the Shepards Pie. Some of the guys get crazy when you mention it.
