Let me know what you think of Shepherds pie. I have been thinking of picking some up. Tried the Shepherd's Pie today - in a Soren Freehand. The jury is still out on it. During the light, I got a nice mild fruity flavor along with a slightly sweet, musty, smoky flavor probably predominately from the Latakia - but as soon as it was lit, the fruitiness disappeared. For a while, it was tasting pretty good. Some people compare it to Frog Morton's Cellar and I can see why. It's somewhat like it, but milder and without the bourbon note. But not too far into the bowl, the flavor faded and the pipe bowl got hot, even though I thought I was sipping it slowly. I slowed up but the flavor didn't return - so I'll have to give it another try soon, in another pipe, probably my other Soren. They seem to be the best to smoke this type of tobacco in. |

I've been keeping my eye out for a good while for a Cavicchi that wasn't so blessed heavy. He just doesn't make many. This one's 1.5 oz. And it's a prince. I'm a sucker for that shape. That is a blazing fast commission! They had the pipe made to your requests in 2 days? Is that a reverse calabash system? A reverse calabash it is. I saw a photo online of the same shape but it was stained red with a red stem. I asked for mine to be white lattice with an orange stem and they made the one pictured above and this one to make sure that I got the stem that I wanted.  Love the pipe! |

Browsing through smokingdollars, I knew I wanted to pick up 5 tins of Presbyterian and I wanted to pick up one tin of an aro. I couldnât decide between Molto Dolce or Peterson Sunset Breeze. I ended up with 2 browsers open, one with Sunset and one with Dolce. I guess I wasnât paying attention and somehow placed both orders, which means I paid shipping twice for no reason. That is almost 2 tins worth of shipping. I am such a dope! Well the upside is that I have 1 1/2 lbs of Presbyterian, one Pound of Father Dempsey, 1 1/2 lbs of Wilke Crystal Palace, 5 tins of Balkan Sasieni. And then there is a bunch of other tobacco. I think I need to lay low for a while.

I've been there where I bought a full $100 order to get free shipping, then they release a limited edition Mac Baren that evening or next morning and I find myself them also ordering only a few tins of that and paying shipping anyway.
urbino it would make more sense at this point to stock deeper and more savings to go with the 8 oz tin route, you're right there. I don't often like opening the 8 ouncers for some reason but it's not like I can't just jar it right away. I think only Haunted Bookshop do I really have numerous 8 ounce tins cellared. |
