Build a salad night at the hacienda.
Salad with mesquite roasted chik’n brst marinated in a Jack Daniel’s marinade. I think the wife laid out 15 different accompaniments.
Good stuff.

For last night's supper I tried a new product from Marie Callender. A Pot Pie made with plant based chicken, a product known as "Gardein". Looks like white meat chicken, has a similar texture when cooked in a sauce or gravy like chicken pe filling. Tastes, well, it could pass for chicken in the mouth of someone not paying too much attention. It is a soy product.
I liked it. I will keep buying the pies with the birds in them, but if this is what is offered I shall not complain too much.

The last few days we've been eating these add an egg cups. They come with little packets of potatoes, onions, bacon and cheese. A bit expensive but tasty, easy and fast. Microwave in a minute.

Things are a bit out of wack...with folks looking forward to turkey in the near future, chicken should be cheap as dirt, but I haven't even checked, cause this is the time of year I rotate my freezer content down. Beef sticks and such should be on sale, for the holidays, real soon...we'll see.

But steak is 5-7 dollars a pound. We have a freezer full of meat so I can't complain.
