Lunch in Alamosa, CO. The best lamb gyro I have had in decades at a small place. Mucho lamb, feta, tomatoes, onions, the sauce.
Supper was chicken vegetable soup from last week.

Too many good meals to claim, at the steakhouse at Mandaly Bay last night, the lobster and prime rib were magnificent, and the boss paid for it! Buttered chicken an Lentil soup in Pahrump tonight, a full breakfast come morning at the buffet before heading to the hacienda.

First breakfast I have had an opportunity to eat since Saturday past! I had to give a couple of them to my dog, cold.
Half a bone in pork chop, two eggs, flour tortilla with cheese. Cafe con Leche.

Grilled chicken with sautéed kale tonight Is it true that kale sauteed in coconut oil slides easily into the kitchen recycle bucket? Asking for a friend.

Any chance you can give up the name of that there place in Corpus? Long ago, my girlfriend, Mexican and Anglo from Corpus made the best tamales I have ever enjoyed. I have an attachment to that place.

Gozar Breakfast Sausage from Del Norte, CO, just up the pike. Two eggs over easy and a heap-O-beans in the skillet. The Gozar family makes theirs from whole pork butts. The found, Greg Gozar, wsa all about quality. He used to personally deliver product to my restaurant twenty years ago. He liked being his own route driver so he could talk with is commercial customers about the market.

John after talking to my son it’s not a restaurant but several shops in the Rio Grande Valleyr that only makes tamales, called Delia’s, go online and they are there. I find the only thing is they are a little on the dry side, Wife’s heats up a can of Wolfs Chili and serves it over the tamales on the soupy side, but you probably can get just as good around where you live.

IMO, tamales should be a little dry so as to encourage a chili gravy topping. Wolf's Chili, without beans or with beans, is my go to when home made is not available. Nice quality. I will look for Delia's. We used to have the Tamale Ladies visit here. Three old grandmothers from San Luis CO would cruise northern NM and southern CO selling dozens of foil wrapped home made tamales out of the back of their car. Like $20 per dozen or such. I have not seen them for years as they have aged to the point the market goes to them! Many tamale makers here and I love the regional variations.
