FYI for snuffheads: Toque has some new snuffs! I haven't tried any of them, but it looks like some rappees, a rustica SP-type, a Schmalzler-type, & more. I'm tempted. I just added some a Grasmere Flake to the shelf and the rose geranium has me reaching for the various Princes lately. Probably Toque Almond Toast for the Bruins game tonight, though. Legend Lover Could you please lock the 2021 snuff thread when you get a chance? Thank you! |

I really like rappees. Sadly I'll have to wait. My expendable funds are going to be non-existent for a while.
I havent had Princes, but really enjoyed the Princes Special that I had. Grasmere hasn't made it to my pipe in years (I'm out of it), but Almond Toast compliments Ennerdale wonderfully.
Silky Dark mixed with Santo Domingo while at work. Red Label Black when I walked in the door.

I should try the Ennerdale Almond Toast thing. I really can't identify Ennerdale as almond, though I know it is. I like it, it just doesn't present as almond to me. Almond Toast is so good and the almond is definitely there for me. I'll try the combo...For Science!
I can't remember what's extra in the Princes Special--haven't had it in a while--but both are heavy on rose geranium. WoS Brunswick is in that league, too, if memory serves. It often doesn't.

Ennerdale's got the kitchen sink for toppings so it can be hard to even detect almond with the rose geranium, tonquin, rum, citrus/fruit oils, heliotropin and I think 5-6 other flavorings. There are so many and they keep them a secret formula of sorts.

Charlie sent me a generous sample of Ennerdale over the summer. There's a little bit left and I'm not looking forward to the day I run out. Sometimes the almond/marzipan flavor really shines through, and sometimes it seems like there is none. It really doesn't make sense to me. Still, delicious stuff. Almond Toast was one of the first Toque snuffs I tried, I fell in love. Toque tends to stop me up though. If that wasn't the case, I'd have a ton of it instead of just a jar and a 25g tin.
