Years ago as a driver that delivered to the local Kroger (Fry’s grocery), I emailed the president here in Arizona. The dockworkers and receiving were being a-holes to our drivers. I emailed a diplomatic email and let him know that in addition to supplying the distribution center, I was a customer. I had put my rewards number on top.
Got a phone call almost immediately was contacted by the veep, and we had a long discussion, after that I got the red carpet treatment, attitudes had been adjusted. And a $100 store card.
Spent it on the Scotch/ Whiskey sale that was going on.
That was one of a handful of examples where I cut through BS rather quickly.

Years ago I taught a “Professional Practices” course for artists and designers. At that time the telephone was the way to go. Doesn’t work now. Corporations keep camouflaging themselves to get away from having to deal with “customers.” (Except to take their money.)

Thank you, friends, for researching the contact information. I may have to follow up with a letter and email. Right now I am hoping to get an overworked raspatory therapist to make my shipment happen. Usually they do not ship equipment. They expect customers to show up in person and bring the old unit which is being replaced. These CPAPs are hard to get now. I have been waiting about two months for my replacement. China supply chain, once again. Frankly I am hoping that, by being kind and patient with Tracy, this RT will remember me for the dear, kind, patient old darling I am and be helpful to me in the future! Well, it is worth a try. Bellyaching, whining, and growling never seem to get me anywhere.

It’s going to take a major shift in our country to get back to where we care about and take care of each other. Present company excepted.

I have always gone the extra mile for customers and even employers (LOL) because that is the way I was raised. Somewhere along the timeline we became a nation of selfish shellfish pricks. LOL! Spell check humor. I kind of like the "shellfish" metaphor: hard edged, soft interior, smells bad when neglected.

Bellyaching, whining, and growling never seem to get me anywhere. That sounds smart, in terms of getting the equipment you need quickly, John. That's the mainest thing right now. More medium-term, I've found filing a complaint with the BBB still gets results. And even if you don't get satisfaction in this instance, people need to know Apria operates in this slipshod, negligent manner. Could save somebody else's life.

The pursuit of pixels can get out of hand. Some of my most popular prints were made from one of the first “professional” digicams which produced only 8Mp.

Hasselblad quality is always impressive. A friend had one of their film cameras back in the early 1970s. The image on the ground glass was sharper than what my eye could see even with corrective lenses! The lens speeds were remarkable. I can just imagine how super this new gadget is.

My “working” cameras now are a pair of SONYs that give me 24Mp. When I compare prints from them with prints from 35mm film cameras it’s hard to find any real differences. I was slow to come to digital, but wouldn’t go back now. I miss working with the 4x5, but since I no longer have a darkroom it has become impractical. Time, and technology, march on.

Today the Bluejays were squawking around the house, very aggressively and very loudly. I decided to have some fun and replied with a crow call. (I can “talk crow” pretty convincingly and have had conversations with crows, or tried anyway. The subject of those conversations remain a mystery, no doubt to both of us.) At first the Jays stopped for a few seconds and then resumed squawking, but more reservedly. When I persisted they went completely silent. No more out of them for hours. I deduce from that that Jays and crows are not friends. Interesting, since I have never seen or heard any direct interaction between them.

Not much fun really, since there is a “grammar” for that kind of thing that leaves little room for variation. (My experience has taught me that men are way more vain than women when being photographed.)

Yeah, my Panasonic Lumix pocket camera is 10mp it takes great pictures! Ron— I have a little Panasonic DMC-LX5 that takes brilliant pictures. Only 9.5Mp but that Vario-Summicron (Leica) lens punches way, way above the little thing’s weight. Only about the size of a pack of king-size cigarettes, it’s a little gem that even though “obsolete” I hope to never part with.

What do I do with my Rolex Rex V and assorted lenses??? Sitting in a case for several decades. B&H Photo Video in NYC buys used equipment-of-quality. I have 3 Leicas, 6 Nikons, scads of lenses, and a complete 4x5 outfit that I have been thinking of sending to them, but can’t seem to bear parting with it all. Silly, but there it is.

On my son’s advice, who is a cell phone fanatic, I switched from Verizon to T mobile. Lowered my payment ( Magenta plan for 55+) 1000.00 prepaid debit card to pay off my Iphone13 pro max Wife got a free Samsung Flex4 Free Netflix included Free Go Go inflight movies And Elon Musk is going to team up with TMobile with satellites to basically turn the phone into a satellite phone in the CONUS. That will be a game changer on the reservation where coverage is really bad, and problematic calling on patients and if I had a breakdown. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/08/30/spacex-t-mobile-starlink-satellite/

When I was taking wedding photos, I had the current flagship Canon 1Ds MkII which was 17Mp and nobody was complaining that it had ONLY 17Mp.
