Great news! My wife's SIL got the call today, after a very long wait, for her kidney transplant. Surgery is today at 2pm. š Tell her us folks at Baxter never want to see her again! I always tell the patients that when they tell me "this is probably the last dialysis solution coming to my home." I cannot imagine the relief that comes one's way when they get this priceless gift, unfortunately it doesn't happen often enough.

Excellent car news. Terrible horse news. Sometimes you wonder what the hell is wrong with people. For me there is no "sometimes". From what I have seen here over 25 years tells me about half the people here should not be allowed to own anything sharp let alone a firearm. They are too stupid, too ignorant of the rights of others, and too violent to be trusted with guns. I am a Second Amendment supporter but draw the line at senseless violence conducted by the mentally impaired. Let's not get into a political debate about it. Perhaps we can agree that some people should NOT be gun owners? These boobs make it hard for responsible sportsmen and women to enjoy their rights. Agreed! I remember a lecture assembly in high school about the 2% that screw up everything for the rest of us. We used to handle them, but now they're in control of the country.

I saw on the news yesterday that we're sending crews from Texas to fight wildfires in Oregon and to repair electric lines in Florida and South Carolina. We we need it all the states send help to us. This is good and the way it should be. I'm sick of the MSM and the government trying to tear us apart.

I was amazed to see the sea of trucks and linemen that were staged in a stadium ahead of the Hurricane.
When Katrina was coming, they could have done the same, but then again had it had been prepared for, the officials in the state of Louisiana wouldnāt be able to play the blame game.

Youāre right Charlie, thereās a but there, last hurricane Laura busted Lake Charles really bad, blue tarps and money supposed from FEMA still not in Mayor ofLake Charles hands, Biden is playing politics, Sherriff of Lee County saying hundreds are dead, fact 21 are known dead, why do i say this at 15 my father and I rescued people off their roofs while I beat the snakes off with a bamboo pole, 2 weeks later we were in the shrimp boat picking up bodies and laying them in Cameronās ice house that survived Audrey, if I could grab that Sheriff and slap the š©out of him. Sorry guys this sort of brings back unpleasant memories.

I celebrated surviving this year too soon. After losing the project manager on the highest profile project in the company, a month ago, today the lead developer gave his notice.
Wheeeee!

Excellent car news. Terrible horse news. Sometimes you wonder what the hell is wrong with people. I agree. I truly wish I could say the same. Unfortunately in my 54 years on this rock, I've gotten to where I don't wonder unless it is because some actually did the right thing for a change... I guess I'm just a bit too cynical.

Fantastic news!
It is great to live in a time where such things like transplants can take place. In 1953, the first temporarily successful transplantation of a human kidney was performed, we think of it as somewhat routine, now.
Still a big deal though, prayers going forward as her body adjusts.

That's fascinating...Interestingly, on the very bottom map, as you bring the slider from left to right, China grows in population and then drops in population - quite dramatically too.

Details emerging on the wild horse slaughter.
Occurred on one the Caldon family farms. Very wealthy LDS family. They have dozens of center pivot irrigated crop circles producing alfalfa for contracts with dairies and feedlots in southern NM and TX. Most are not fenced. This is an open grazing state, aka, fence out. They have been too cheap to fence so the wild horses roam and feed. The Caldon family views them as pests to be exterminated. Since there are no laws concerning this much can happen some might wish otherwise. I get their point but this is not the best farm and range management practice. The local wild horse advocate has the ASPCA involved and a local ABC affiliate is sending a crew down to take the story and film the dead which can be located. Most have been hauled away. A lot of people are upset about but it will pass and the Caldon family will keep sending hay trucks south.

If they are also in the seeding and reclamation business, it looks like they have a lot of relationships with the local government.

It's going to be a very October and November. I have 5, possibly 6, concerts coming up over the next 6 weeks. I also FINALLY have a final court date for my divorce that I have to be back in Georgia for in 2 weeks. It happened to fall perfectly and I won't miss a concert because of it. A trip back to GA also means I can make my cellar rescue mission.
How am I going to make it work? I have no idea, but I will.
Live music + a divorce being final after almost 16 months? I think October is my new favorite month.

A dark and rainy Sunday. In the mid 50s Fahrenheit.
No need to light the wood stove, house is plenty warm.
Home made soup bubbling on the electric stove.

Have fun at the concerts, I hope your trip to Georgia can wrap everything up for you with results that far exceed your expectations.
