No evening pipe for me tonight. I burned the roof of my mouth badly on last night's dinner. I'm letting it heal in the hopes I can partake at the pipe club meeting this Saturday. What did you have that was so hot? I often do that with pizza if I eat it too soon after coming out of the oven - the cheese gets me every time. Believe it or not, shake n bake chicken. I got a piece of caramelized topping stuck on the roof of my mouth and by the time I cleared it the damage was done. Chicken was worth it though  |

Hard freeze warning for tomorrow morning. Our first. I also get the first tranche of deer hunters, to be here for a week. The 12YO archer will be after his third whitetail in a row this time. Eli will be overjoyed to have him back.

If a stranger shows up here with a kid that wants to hunt he’ll probably get a guided hunt. I’m a softie. |

If I am not mistaken, the Carib Indians that Columbus encountered smoked tobacco by rolling it in leaves and then sticking the “cigarette” up their noses. Retrohaling by cutting out the middleman! |

Back from ER.
Not a great day. They made a prelimi diagnose and kicked me out owing ti the terribly serious illnesses of others. . I had quite a tiem getting meds scripts filled at pharmacy. The Curtain kept dropping on me. Was able to make the hour loong drive home by going 45 MPH. In addition wanting to pass out I cannot seee in the dark very well. Rgw road is not painted or stripped. Very black out there.
I think the fainting was from not eating since the weekend nad blood sugar too low. I did get chicken and rice with vegies at the hot country where my pharmacy is. Feeling better now.
Hoping the medicines and creams and baths will help return my skin to something.

Dang John! you really need to take it a little easier! I hope you get better soon, but I fear your drive to continue doing more than you should is going to hinder that. For the first time in a long time, I am wishing I was close enough to someone I know online to help.

Been going since before light. Everything moves slower this time of year, including the Sun apparently. Morning chores done in a rush , I hate that. Makes me grouchy all day. Its such a privilege to walk at my own pace and watch all the animals wake up. I hate when I have to rush it. Aunt needed a starter put in though, the tapping with a hammer to get the old truck going only works for so long. Got the old one off with minimal swearing. I try and keep mind of my language but when a wrench slips and knuckles meet metal, words happen. Made it back only a little late for the day job. Rushing in the morning makes me feel behind all day.

Wish I had as much self control. My current assignment for work has me sitting a an open floor office area in a cubicle. I tend to swear at my PC when my fat fingers tell it to do things I didn't want done, or dont tell it to do something I want done... I really need to be careful as the gentler kind in the office might get offended by my old sailors mouth! Glad you got the starter fixed. Depending on the make and model of the old truck that could have been a relatively simple job, or a nightmare! (Been there in both cases.) Happy Friday everyone!!! |
