A mix of P.S. Burley 702, and Gatlin's Cades Cove Cavendish, in my Ben Wade pickaxe, a huge bowl with straight grain all around, it sports a dark stem that looks to be amber, but is more likely red vulcanite. The pipe was a Valentine's day gift from my wife, in 1982

Goldbrick That's the first time I've smoked that one. It's been sitting in its own spot on my pipe rack for a long time waiting it's turn. Doug, from PSD, passed away a few days ago and he was a Cob and CH guy. Jim set up a memorial smoke for him at 8 yesterday... so the corndog found its place Thank you sir! I still have plenty of Yorktown but I haven't opened a jar of it in a while. That's about to change. It'll be my smoke on the way to work in about 20 minutes Surprisingly, I'm pretty good at remembering where my gifted pipes came from.

The events in the life of an old pipe can range far and wide Josh. Lord knows where that old cob has been, but I snatched it from a junk shop shelf, sent it to you, and it found new life, with the passing of your friend...every pipe has a story, and now we're part of this one.

Thats a great way to look at it. I often wonder the stories some of my estate pipes could tell. I know my personal ones have quite a few already. A few years on bulk Yorktown really brought it together. It was great when fresh, but this is so much better. Now I want to see what my Poplar Camp has turned into.

Started the day with Haunted Bookshop in the Monday cob and coffee. Mowed the lawn and did a little tree trimming late morning, Went to see Dad. Had Haunted Bookshop and Three Friars with me the whole day. Just finished grilling chicken to add to salad of mixed greens for dinner, not hungry yet.

C&D's Orion's Arrow in a MM Pony Express.
Anybody else here do the thing where you pack a bowl, and let it sit there for a day or two before getting around to lighting it? I haven't noticed if it's any different from just air-drying it a bit before lighting it.

Visions of celephais in a cob. As I wasn’t going to risk ghosting my meers or briars as I have heard it’s pretty grape. I either got a bad can or it a just people pulling my leg. Cuz it isn’t that bad. Not for me but I didn’t feel like i got beaten over the head with grape like I was expecting. It’s different but I don’t see myself ordering another tin once this one’s gone. Still glad I decided to man up and crack open this lone tin I was gifted by my secret Santa.
