One of those barrels of Briggs has been on Pipestud's for a while. I saw one at the NASPC show. Yup and Steve has given perfect service every time. Good thing my kids have been through college or their funds would be gone

What time did you get to the show on Friday? I found a few good tobacco deals. I'll post my full haul pics and details after I get home tomorrow or else on Monday. My tobacco haul included: 2006 8oz can of C&D Yorktown $20 2006 8oz can of OJK $20; picked up for danno44 2012 50gm McC Blue Mountain (now called Balkan Blue) $15 2012 100gm FMC $20 3x 2013 2oz GLP Embarcadero $19 ea. A friend found 5x 2011 C&D Good Morning for $10 ea. Missed in your astronomical list is the guy with multiple silver bags of Penzance and Stonehaven for $250. I got there about 10 til 5. I got there right on time to walk around and scope out all the tobacco. Those aged C&D tins you showed me were a decent deal and I kind of looked over them as I was looking for extinct blend and well aged first. There was a guy in the back selling some tins from the late 70's tinned by McClelland for $250-400 as well for half pound tins I believe. Extinct or well aged you won't find deals on if you find it. I have the best luck looking for deals on 5 to 10 year old tins. I have taken pics of my Columbus haul. I just have to find time to upload to Imgur and pst them.

I got my customer appreciation week 20% off order with free gift box in the mail today.
My order was 5 tins of Viprati, 1-100g tin of McC Navy Cavendish, 2-100g tins of McC Dark Star, a Decatur Pipe Reamer, pack of BJ Long fluffy pipe cleaners & a 4oz. bag of D&R Two Timer Regular.
This is what was in the "$250.00 customer appreciation gift box": 1 tin each of Viprati, Out of Office - Up All Night & Stanwell - Classic, a Club Macanudo Bag with a pkg of pipe cleaners, Silver Horseshoe pipe nail, MM Eaton cob & an Echo 1 paracord bracelet.
I usually miss out on the free gift boxes & have always kicked myself after seeing all the goodies I could have got ... I think I still got kicked. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to receive the free stuff, but it's not nearly as good as previous years for sure.

Are you confusing customer appreciation with the International pipe smoking day goodie box? In the past, I only participated in the latter, this year I participated in the former though...my box is identical to yours, but since I got 20% off my entire order and bought stuff on sale, it was a win-win for me. That Macanudo bag...in the days of my mis-spent youth, I would call it a "mojo bag"...does it have a specific use?

I'm probably confusing the two, I'm good at being confused. It's all good tho, I'm happy with what I got. I have no clue what the Macanudo bag is for, but it could be used as a day bag to carry accessories & the like. I just figured it was something to represent the cigars part of their name.

It looks like a good Mojo bag for my whiskey flask!
February 20th is the IPSD, and there are decent goodie bags handed out, but some people still piss and moan about what they get...but then some could be gifted a Jess Chonoschwitch pipe and bellyache about it...present company excepted.
If I receive something that doesn't work for me, there are always people in the pipe community that appreciate the re-gifting.

Dunhill Rolls are backordered... I think that I am done cellaring...might pick up a tin of this or that, but I think that my tobacco will outlast me, and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Ordered some tobaccos from P&C last week. That's a pound of Lane's BL/WB in the upper left; the Lane blends were already on sale and with the 20% discount it was too tempting. A friend gave me a couple of bowls of The Royal Yacht a few weeks back and I really liked it. Also got a "goody bag" which is shown in a different post.

Finally got hold of some SG Kendal Plug! Smokingpipes.com sent me a notification email and I was right there at my computer, so I bought some. I've been trying to buy some for three years now. And just about an hour ago, I bought these pouches at the local tobacco store with some coupons that I got in the mail. I used to smoke Half & Half all the time years ago, but haven't tried the Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey or the Carter Hall. The Borkum Riff has terrible reviews but I figure I'll make up my own opinion about it.

TwelveAMnTX - eek, "$250.00 customer appreciation gift box"?! That paracord bracelet must be worth $225. I guess I know what to expect when mine lands tomorrow. Yeah, it's "free" and it's not good to look a gift horse in the mouth. On the other hand, it was an incentive to encourage people to order, and the promise of $250 worth of loot worked on me (even if I was a bit sceptical of their usual MSRP claims). So the effect is kind of "customer depreciation." I hope the cob is at least a real MM and not an unsmokeable Chinese one.

Here is my haul from last weekend at the Columbus Show. I went to the show only intending to buy tobacco and had no pipe plans. No plan survives contact with a pipe show. Two estate pipes caught my eye. I also found a pipe for a buddy's wife who had me birthday shopping for him. Luckily, all three pipes were from one dealer and he gave me a very nice volume discount. The estates that I got are a Dunhill Root Briar group 1 Billiard and a Savinelli Punto Oro Smooth Natural 627 (discontinued shape). The Dunhill had only been ever smoked with only a couple half bowls! The Dunhill has no year stamp. I'll start a thread with full pics in the Pipes section for the Dunhill experts to discuss. The pipe for my buddy's birthday present was a 1960-80 GBD Prince, shape 357. (He has been given it already. ) The aged tobacco: 2006 C&D Yorktown (8oz), 3x 2013 GLP Embarcadero (poofy), 2012 McC Blue Mountain (now called Balkan Blue), 2012 McC FMC. The current production tobacco: Dunhill Root Briar group 1 Billiard, shape 249: (estate, smoked only a couple half bowls) Savinelli Punto Oro Smooth Natural 627: (estate)

Pipestud put one more up on his website a few days ago. I still have not broken the stamp seal, but the fragrance after I watered the ceramic disc is worth smelling all day. I do have to admit I used to love the smell of gasoline, too
