Here is my haul from last weekend at the Columbus Show. I went to the show only intending to buy tobacco and had no pipe plans. No plan survives contact with a pipe show. Two estate pipes caught my eye. I also found a pipe for a buddy's wife who had me birthday shopping for him. Luckily, all three pipes were from one dealer and he gave me a very nice volume discount. The estates that I got are a Dunhill Root Briar group 1 Billiard and a Savinelli Punto Oro Smooth Natural 627 (discontinued shape). The Dunhill had only been ever smoked with only a couple half bowls! The Dunhill has no year stamp. I'll start a thread with full pics in the Pipes section for the Dunhill experts to discuss. The pipe for my buddy's birthday present was a 1960-80 GBD Prince, shape 357. (He has been given it already. ) The aged tobacco: 2006 C&D Yorktown (8oz), 3x 2013 GLP Embarcadero (poofy), 2012 McC Blue Mountain (now called Balkan Blue), 2012 McC FMC. The current production tobacco: Dunhill Root Briar group 1 Billiard, shape 249: (estate, smoked only a couple half bowls) Savinelli Punto Oro Smooth Natural 627: (estate) You the man. Nice haul.

Today I made my monthly pipe and tobacco order. 1. Cork knocker 2.Low Country Strawberry 1# 3.L C Natural VA and Oriental 1# 4.C&D Cordial 4 0z. 5. Bid Ben Smooth Black Billiard. Unsmoked. 6.GH&Co. Rum Flake 4 oz. 7.GH&Co. Louisiana Perique Flake 8oz. 8. GH&Co, Grasmere Flake 4 oz. That should get me through September.
Today I received all the above stuff. I'm smoking GH&Co. Louisiana Perique Flake in the stealthy Big Ben billiard. (Stamped simply "BIG BEN" and "HOLLAND") Smokes well, it's light,I like!

Nice score, John. There are some Esoterica products at PipeStud's site. Considering normal hawkers' prices his are Jake. However, I got a sampler of Middleton's coming. I really wanted to try the original Hickory. It also has one I have not heard of and a sample of Walnut. One of these days I'll run across Germain, Esoterica for MSRP and take a plunge.

My P&C order for Customer Appreciation Week finally came in. Thought I'd try a couple new-to-me Lane blends, which somehow stacked with their $1.25 sale, and came out to 75c per oz. Vanilla Black Cav is backordered. And yeah, I had to do the CB Grape thing eventually.... Got the same gift as others, with the cheaper cob - but it's a good small size for tasting, and I'd been planning on getting one. But the free tins are coming soon to a trading block near you....
Lane Limited Very Cherry Bulk 1 oz Lane Limited TK-6 Bulk 1 oz
Choose 5 Pouches special 1 x Amphora Black Cavendish 1 x Amphora Full Aroma 1 x Missouri Meerschaum American Patriot 1 x Peterson Wild Atlantic 1 x Captain Black Grape
Choose 1 Kit & 5 Tobaccos special 1 x FREE - Taste of Excellence Pipe and Accessories Kit 1 x Gurkha Urban Legend 1 x Hearth & Home Marquee Cerberus 1 x John Cotton's No. 3 1 x Murray's 1A Linfield 1 x Seattle Pipe Club Yakima Valley
Customer Appreciation Gift
1 x Balkan Sasieni
All that came to around $55. A pound of HHVS was backordered, so we'll see if it appears.

It was a rustic Casillero: www.pipesandcigars.com/p/casillero-rustic-pipes/1511601/ (the one on the bottom). Haven't tried smoking it yet but it looks okay. I did some googling and people seem to think they're good smokers. I thought the selection of tobaccos was pretty good for this kind of deal. They also offer it in various aro versions, but the selections aren't as good. At $50 it's a decent deal, at 20% off it was excellent.

Got the pipe above today. It is even nicer in person. Love it. On side note, the order of a bunch 3 Oaks I made on another forum, never arrived and has been a confusing mess to put it mildly. I will not air out the details here, but will not deal with that person again.

Got a pleasant surprise in the mail today! I won this handmade pipe made by Clark Layton of Sloth Pipes at the Columbus Pipe Show. Since my ride decided to leave the show early, I wasn't there for the drawing, so they mailed the pipe to me. I really wasn't expecting this! Love this pipe! Thanks again, Clark, for donating the pipe to the drawing!

While shopping on Amazon for regular stuff, remembered that I needed DRG filters, so ordered a box. Amongst the non-pipe sellers, was 4Noggins, so I ordered from them.

I got thirteen tins of Capstan blue from the great sale going on at 4Noggins...I didn't expect to be doing any shopping with Rich anymore, but for the price, I had a moment of weakness.

I've got this coming from Christopher Pipes in Canada. A lovely Maple Lovat with a rosewood ring. Not a small pipe at about 6 3/8" long and a 2" bowl, with nice thick walls. I have one other of his pipes, a briar bent apple that is a great smoker too. He makes very nice pipes for not a lot of money.
