Take notice......especially Perry and Stone....... I’m going to bid on the Reverse Calabash Pipe from HS Studio. Just a heads up👌👍👍. My only Reverse Calabash Pipe I own now is a big Sherlock Holmes and a MM Cob. Hopefully I can win this one on the cheap side. Selling off some of my knives and paying bills off, I deserve a treat......so I think.......lol. Put a $51.75 high bid with 13 seconds to go & got sniped. Oh well. I'll try & win the RC from the same seller (auction ending 2 days 23 hours)

Now that the pipe rack is up at the cabin, I made my first cabin order so we always have stuff there
6 Oz BCA (keeping 2 Oz for my house 8 Oz sugar barrel match (I’ll keep half for my house) 4 Oz 965 match 4 Oz nightcap match 6 Oz fudge cake (keeping 2 oz for my house) 6 Oz LBF (keeping 2 Oz for my house to top off my jar) 4 Oz Balkan supreme Tub of velvet
With the amount of time we get up to the cabin (hardly go in the winter), this will last a long time. Brad is also bringing up about 2 pounds of assorted stuff and 30 pipes to restore in the wood shop.

I have been extremely stressed out lately, and that has made me spend some really stupid money. Not a great personality trait, but it's good for my pipe collection! First up, a Ferndown pipe with a blast done by Michael Parks. Les and Dolly Wood don't do any blasting in house, they send stuff to Canada for deep blasts by a master blaster. Les Wood silver and stemwork with a Parks blast. Can't beat that. Secondly, a 1938 Parker's Super Bruyere with a very peculiar stem. This is a small group 3 or a large group 2. I couldn't resist the style, and I have no idea what to make of the "White Spot" in the stem. Lastly, a Peterson stamped "Handmade," hallmarked 1988. It's a house pipe. It's about twice the size/mass of the largest System pipe I owned before.

smellthehatfirst, lovely pipes - especially the Peterson. It looks like a beautiful pipe. I would assume that, because it's handmade, the drilling should be better than what many have experienced lately.

I'm hoping they have at least a couple more of the same design. The next one that comes up I'm stepping back to give Ted a chance to win.

Not necessary, it hurts enough just knowing I would have won this Poker RC with my bid👍👍👍👍 I don’t need anymore pipes, so you can keep bidding on the RC of your choice......happy hunting and GOOD LUCK!!!

Had a nice pipe club meeting yesterday. Paul’s pipe shop brought some pipes and old tobacco in for purchase. Good conversation, good tobacco, and good times. Picked up a nice Spaniola for a great price. It was good to see you there!

Fascinating! In addition to the mystery white spot, might the military mount be also a repair? I ask because the shank seems abnormally short. Nomenclature?

This one? It looks to me as though it's still available- @$120. And yet there's a statement that it's no longer available at the top, but photos and description follow...

The army mount is probably not a repair, because all of the nomenclature is "squeezed" into the gap between the silver flock and the bowl.
Nomenclature is in all caps:
PARKER'S SUPER BRUYERE MADE IN LONDON, ENGLAND 1(unreadable)
The unreadable second digit is either a 1 or a 4, suggesting a manufacture date of 1935 or 1938.
I have no idea what's up with that stem. It's plainly hand-cut, so if it's a replacement, it either cost a fortune, or came from a Dunhill that cost a fortune.

smellthehatfirst , lovely pipes - especially the Peterson. It looks like a beautiful pipe. I would assume that, because it's handmade, the drilling should be better than what many have experienced lately. It's a System pipe, so the drilling is deliberately "bad," in order to trap moisture in a deliberately oversize mortise.
Where you run into trouble in a Pete is when you get a bent pipe that's drilled like a System, but lacks the System components. Then it just gurgles like mad.
