I succumbed to the Red Va scare - Again. 5 tins of McCranie's Red Ribbon from the 2011 cut and five tins of Red Flake from the 2008 cut. Local B&M? I thought that all the 2008 was gone. After re-reading, I see you bought the Flake and the ribbon.

Yeah.. my speed reading failed me.😀
The people at McCrainies are kind and trusting... their website doesn’t accept cc orders, but if you place an order, they will ship it and trust you to send a check.

I've had both the 2008 Ribbon and Flake. I put the flake in a little blender, turned it into ribbon and couldn't sense any detectible difference between the two; however, I do believe either is a little smoother than #5100 jarred bulk of similar age but it's splitting hairs for a red Va hound like myself. It's like pizza if you really dig it - It's still pretty darn good even when it's not quite as good.
Good question though since there's apparently not flake available from the 2011 cut?

I'm sure the McCranie's have a wee bit of Cherokee in their blood (like myself), and have over the years built a solid core of trustworthy customers and friends. Its always great that when you shake the hand of another or give your word, its a solid contract, and you're good!

I'm waiting on a tin of 2016 X-Mas Cheer.
Yesterday my birthday present from my wife arrived:
A 2017 DON WARREN FREEHAND SITTER W/ PLATEAU RIM and butterscotch acrylic stem.
I don't know how to upload a picture of it. It is gorgeous and can't for its maiden smoke.
