Pipes a beaut! Glad you were able to attend, John! A nice respite from the malady… as broken leg Charlie can relate! If there are posted pics online, be sure to post a link! Thanks! The picnic was great. I don’t know if anyone took any pics. We were using one of the member's pole barn. One of our members showed up with a buffer to touch up pipes. He’s a professional machinist so he has a nice light touch on a buffer. My highlight of the day was when Dan Spaniola walked in carrying a 5 lb bag of tobacco and handed it to me saying "Here, smoke some and tell me what you think." He had found an old bag of tobacco (like 20 to 30 years old) in the basement of the shop. The ingredients list was almost the same as Darwin Asa (a shop favorite blend). So, he tweaked it to try and make it Darwin Asa. Since I’ve smoked a good amount of Darwin Asa, I got to be a taste tester. Yup, it’s tastes like aged Darwin Asa and I can tell it has Syrian Latakia. 😀 (No, Dan was not giving me the bag but he knows I like to put my entire face into a 5 lb bag and take a deep whiff when I'm evaluating a blend for him. I've been in that room. He probably had to move several bags of other tobaccos to get to that one!

Think I've learned something about ye olde ayr puryfyer. On its highest setting, it moves more air through the filter, yes, but it doesn't filter it as well. I think max effectiveness may be setting 2 rather than 3.
It's like when you put the lawnmower in 3rd gear to get it done fast, but it's moving too fast to cut the grass well and you just have to go back over what you've already mowed.

Soborg Danish Made Bent Brandy 2018 Dunhill Durbar... black coffee alongside... Today will be a day of rest and preparation for tomorrow. The studying and compiling is done. Tomorrow evening I will begin a new chapter in my life, preaching my first sermon. If you were to tell me at 67 I would begin to preach I would have asked you to get a checkup from the neck up. Nevertheless, I’ll go where God leads me and do as He instructs. Puff On me Hearties, Puff On... Good luck in your new chapter, and congrats! Thank Herbert, it went very well.

Not smoking it tonight, but I have been judicious in smoking my Strang, because when it is gone it is gone. Got more headed my way thanks to Desolbones...wooohoo! Now would be a good time to start an underground Strang smuggling ring!

It's like when you put the lawnmower in 3rd gear to get it done fast, but it's moving too fast to cut the grass well and you just have to go back over what you've already mowed. Absolutely that is the case for the HEPA filters. The best recommendation I can offer for real deal smell particle air filtration is that you do what weed growers do. It's much cheaper than the $700-999 HEPA filters and better. You buy a $100~ inline charcoal can filter. They look like long metal perforated mesh tubes that are completely packed full of activated charcoal. Then you buy an approximately $100-150 inline very high CFM can fan for horticulture as well. Get one that can move at least 600 CFM (Cubic feet per minute) and simply setup that sucker nearby where you're smoking and make sure you have your intake and exhaust room pressure how you like it. You'll feel it create a bit of a vacuum in the entire room when you have the CFM right and every bit of smoke will then pass through the activated charcoal. There will be zero smoke smell.
