During my Patch hiatus, I picked up a CZ 75 Compact, and a set of inexpensive rosewood grips. Haven't had time to shoot it yet, but, man, during dry fire, at least, all those people who talk about how well the 75 fits the hand seem to be right. It hold and points very naturally. And I love a hammer-fired shooter. CZ's low-profile slide takes some getting used to, though.

I consider CZ 75Bs the Rolls-Royce of 9mm handguns. Then what do you consider the J.M.B. Model 1935 to be? CZ75 is a fine piece, too.

I consider CZ 75Bs the Rolls-Royce of 9mm handguns. That's probably the model I'd be least likely to get. Just a size-and-features thing. There are so many 75 variants, I kinda lose track of which ones are exactly what, but I think I'm thinking of the right one.

Nice.
I don't really need another pistol, but I've been tempted by CZ's P01-Omega. also the more recent Dan Wesson(CZ owned) DWX.

One of my regular deliveries and pickups when I was in the freight business was Angus Hobdell’s shop in Mesa. When I announced that I was retiring from ABF freight they told me to come on anytime and they would give me a deal… great shop. czcustom.com/

I liked the full-size CZ75B so much I wanted a carry version, a more compact and light pistol since the 75B is a very heavy hunk of steel. I considered the CZ compact but then I read in its specs that it was only 1 ounce lighter than the full size. So I bought a Turk clone with an alloy frame, which CZ does not provide on any of the 75 line. Cruder than the CZs but still a well-made pistol and very reliable, but soon after that I fell under the sway of the SIg P365XL. So many guns, so little time.

I don't own any CZ handguns, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.
I do own their CZ Scorpion EVO Carbine in 9mm. It shoots real nice, but has a very hard trigger pull. I should look into fixing that someday.

Interesting that it's only an ounce lighter. Don't they make a version in aluminum? Or is that the P-01? There are lots of clones out there, apparently, and a lot of them very good. I guess the IP on the design expired quite a while ago. Other companies know a good thing when they see it.

Mine. Not quite 4 ounces heavier than a High Power. This one has an excellent trigger.

My CZ-97B. Big, chunky and pleasingly accurate.

The Star 30M is a combination of the CZ 75 and the 1911. The only complaints are that it's heavy and there are no customization parts for it. Not even after market grips. I think anyone has ever worn one out. I'm thinking about replacing my bedside 30M with the Camp 9 with 147 grain bullets. It should be a lot less damaging in the house.

I don't own a CZ of any sorts but it reminds me quite a bit of my Beretta Cougar 8045 (Which is Stoeger made from their machinery, the Beretta-made had already been discontinued)

I've had a STAR PD for many years, good little .45. Brad, if you haven’t done it check the recoil buffer in your PD. They were cheap and flimsy and frequently fell apart causing danger to the aluminum frame. I think better buffers may be available as after-market parts but haven’t checked for them. That’s a fine little pistol and would be a shame to shake it apart from a bad buffer. Later… Curious, I looked around. Yes, they are available. Here is one place… gungaragestore.com/star-pd-45-auto-recoil-spring-guide-buffer/

Bob thank you very much, I will get some. You Da Man! I have several dozen Black Jack buffers for different guns. The Camp 9 chews them up worse than anything else, even with a beefier spring. I find that buffers can be adapted to several guns, especially the 1911 buffers.

An Eye-Tal-Yon car!! Save US! 😁 Worse even. French! 🤯 A guy that I went to high school with drove one of those funny looking little Citroëns. It got him there every day. My wife drove her boss's Citroën SM and in the late 60s and she said it was the most wonderful car ever. My only experience with French cars was a Peugeot. Can't say enough bad about that car.

The Citroens from the 1950s and 1960s are very beautiful to me. The 1970s version, a joint effort of Citroen and Maserati, are stunning. In the early 1970s, three friends had various Peugeots. They, too, were good cars. I always want one of the Algerian Station Wagons with the four cylinder diesel, manual tranny and leaf sprig suspension. Peugeot's diesel engine experience is as old as MBZ.
