Good luck, John. IMO about the worst thing to happen for a retired guy is to have had hyper-organized secretaries who filed everything and could put ANY document on your desk in a minute, or less. I struggle with that “senior syndrome” thingie, too. But I try not to stress about it. ‘Taint worth it.

Spent the afternoon searching for papers which must be returned to central control ASAP. My application for a tiny pension from Bank of America, so long ago. Oh, what do I do with things? Did I already sign and return? Senior citizen mental problems again. I know that feeling.

My filing system. You've got everything you need in one place. I don't think I can lay my hands on the Merck manual right now.

Another fantastic day in NE Texas today. I put out a bunch of grass seed and got my bridge put back in. Jaw is feeling better.

Cold, dark day. Went out on the ATV to inspect the upper ditch and the creek. That was really cold! Much snow and ice still on ground. creek is flooding onto the floodplain owing to the beaver dams. No houses in danger yet but when it warms up and the runoff is in the 130 to 150 CFS range, look out below.

At work we have to deliver to patients in challenging situations, especially out on the res...there really are no addresses, most never answer the phone if you need guidance to their home...but most we have pin dropped on Garmin units and I transfer the files regularly. But you still need common sense whether to drive out there or somehow communicate that the patient needs to meet you in their pickup...(1,500 to 2,000 pound shipments are not unusual)
We hired a crop of drivers and now that now that we did route bidding, and the day approaches that they are kicked from the nest (next week) they are folding like an orchid in the Sonoran desert. One quit on Friday because he was facing a res run next week...one has milked the light duty status, because he now says he is scared of dogs after being bitten and needs to stay in the office surfing the net, One just is a lazy bum.
They are a generation or two behind me, and I think that they should be sent for a testicular examination to see if they actually have any stones.
All three are big guys, but the physical presence does not translate to where they are at on the scale of evolution.
Pussn' boots isn't just a fable, it is actually in reality with some that fancy themselves as truck drivers, but they are steering wheel holders.

Back in Florida this evening. Drove 17.5 hours from Illinois to Florida. Left Illinois at ~0300. Ready for a beer, or 2, but I'm out! I'll have to remedy that first thing tomorrow.

I dunno what's going on, but there have been jets coming over the house every 5 minutes or so for quite a while. Maybe FedEx rerouted a bunch of planes around the snow and whatnot.

Last day working in Prescott ... can't believe 13 months already flew by! My next contract begins April 3rd so I'll get a couple weeks off in between. Not really a break, though, as we'll be laying flooring and remodeling a bathroom.

Rez deliveries and Rez travel can be challenging, as you mentioned. Spent time in the Jicarilla Apache nation and the Dine'Rez. If not comfortable with it, stay home.

Father Winter gave us a coupla reprieve-days. 75° yesterday and 68° the day before. But now back to white stuff on the ground, cold, rain, and snow for the next few days. Thems the breaks. Warmer today with rain drizzle. NWS forecast was 4 to 8 inches of snow here with 90 per cent probablity. Their forecast is for snow at varying degreees of certainty for the next week. Rain at this time of years is a serious problem. The creek contains much ice. So the runoff will likely flood. Hopefully, any flooding will be contained on the flood bankks but dummys built houses there so they are in real danger. The beaver dams contribute to the problem. In addition to flood hazard from rain, we are loosing our snow pack, the source of summer irrigation. Perhaps we will accumulate snow in the watershed which is higher elevation and, in theory, colder? Rain rather than snow in mid March is unusual.
