Down on essentials I had to make a supply run to The Cowboy Capitol. Thought I was smart doing on Sunday morning. Wrong. Crowded. But it’s done now and Jack got a good ride. Should be good for nigh a month unless I get visitors. Inventory shows 90 days but it never works out exactly as counted. We had to go to Tractor Supply today and it was so crowded you couldn't turn around. I guess we need to move further out in the country.

Just notified by dispatch, there is a patient near Monument valley that his house burned down, needs his meds before I go to Vegas, no other truck heading that way...good thing I am training a new employee...long day tomorrow...The patient lives on the other side of that rock. So, it looks like the road goes through the little notch on the left.

I dunno Ron...I see a coyote with a crate of ACME explosives up ahead....think I will cover myself with blankets and let the rookie drive. The road sweeps around the left, and there is a huge herd of sheep on the backside… calling ahead, hoping to get roast lamb Navajo tacos.

Drove north to Alamosa CO for supplies. Much better selection, no inventory problems, and some prices are lower than in Toad NM. I actually found Colorado Wagyu ground beef for $6.99 per pound. Southern CO is flooded with the rivers and creeks way over their banks and into farms. The Rio Grande del Norte is the highest I have seen in decades here.

Figured as much… California has been dealt a watery hand, Tulare is getting inundated with the snow melt from Yosemite.

Just talked to my friend who lives just east of Albuquerque and he's got a contractor there building a diversion wall to try to keep his septic system from washing away. Also saw that old, obsolete diversion channels are getting water in them. The lower Rio Grande could use a good flush.

Morning all. Happy Hump Day for those of you still working. Currently suffering from major allergy attack in my little corner of the world. Lilac, pine, fir and spruce pollen count very high today. In other words I’m allergic to everything on the golf course today. Haha… 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤪

When I drive somewhere with the car windows down, I sometimes go into a sneezing fit.

She almost went to hospital because of it, but it calmed down (doc told her the following day that she should have). Then last week she took another allergic reaction (we think to mustard in the mayo) and I did have to race to hospital to get her seen. I thought she was a gonner at one point. She now has to wait 5 years to be seen by an immunologist on the NHS. 😂

Yeah, food allergies are no joke. Seems kind of unusual to suddenly develop them so far into adulthood, but I really wouldn't know. The doc she saw couldn't give her any clue what avocados and mayo/mustard have in common that may have caused it, or did they think it's 2 different allergies?

It sounds like they hope people succumb to illnesses so that they can say, "Well she was due to be seen".

That’s really scary, LL. You never know when another one is gonna jump out and say BOO! The only allergy that has ever affected me is the mold in certain Irish stone farm houses. Makes you afraid you’re gonna die, and then afraid you won’t.

Tomorrow is the last day for my antibiotics and I'm still coughing, though it has lessoned some. I wrecked myself yesterday, removing 3 blades from the lawnmower and sharpening them. Then the sway bar for the mower deck fell off and I had to figure out how to put it back in. Silly fastening. Mowed the lawn and the quarter acre between my fence and the road. It's very steep but usually not too bad to mow. This time I discovered that the county brush hog had left 8 inch deep ruts. Loads of fun. Couldn't move this morning. Went to a movie in Texarkana with the wife. Feeling better now. I might live in spite of myself.

It's been much less, but I had a big coughing fit on the way home and had to pull off the highway. We'll see.

Doggone it Ron, Wish I was closer to give help. Nothing you can do. I'm just getting old. Sitting around and coughing for 3 weeks left me in bad shape. Then I tried to do too much. I did several other chores before I started on the lawnmower. If I had just fixed the mower yesterday and mowed today and tomorrow it would have been better. I forgot that I'm not 60 anymore.

It really is strange that it's developing so late. Last week, she had the same meal on the Monday and was fine, then on the Friday she was rushed to hospital. Thanks everyone else for your kind words.

Paddy, I hope that your wife can find help soon. Maybe take her straight to hospital? Hey, Ron, your coughing sounds like something I had a few months ago. I think it was bronchitis. I coughed for a couple or three weeks and then it began to trail off. Get better soon, my friend.

I imagine it would be kept clean, fastidious person that your are but I still ask to eliminate the obvious in our investigation, LOL!

I came home last evening to discover someone stole the 24 inch handwheel off of my irrigation headgate. Sigh. This is a problem as these are hard to find which is probably why it was stolen. Fits a large tapered nut which works with the Acme Screw to lift the steel gate. Very hard to lift the gate with a wrench instead of the wheel since the nut is bronze and the pressure on the gate is significant when water is flowing. Now I have to spend time searching for a replacement which means productive work will not get done for a while. The culture of stealing here is not what I like about northern NM.
