Nephew has been wed. Sitting around waiting for the reception to start. Sounds like a good time for a bowl. I don’t go to weddings anymore…. My granddaughters I will make an exception, but that is far, far in the future.

A use for my weeds. This little expectant mom was chowing down on some of my vegetation when I let the dogs out. She looked but then went back to eating and ignored them. They did the same. I’m betting on twins.

The misery of hundreds of motorcycles, mostly that crap once made in Milwaukee, continues unabated. None of these knuckleheads have mufflers and the noise is deafening. It is only one weekend each year but each year it is harder to bear the burden of senseless noise. I hope you asshats in Red River are happy with this mess. When I had my bike my wife and I had to stop riding with the group we rode with. I couldn't stand the damned loud pipes all around me. Loud pipes save lives they said, I say it's just an excuse to turn an otherwise pleasurable activity into an obnoxious teenage stunt done by supposed adults who should know better. I hear that stupid remark often. The sound waves emanate from the rear of the motorcycle. The traffic obstructions are way out in front. These simple facts elude people.

Why could it not be a rally of BMWs? Ok, Motoguzzis, too.

Why could it not be a rally of BMWs? Ok, Motoguzzis, too. I noticed that most people enjoyed seeing 40 Gold Wing trikes go by. Almost silently.

I’m betting on twins. Nice! I walked out in the yard today and I squirrel jumped off the bird feeder and ran up the katawba tree. I walked around the tree and there he was. We were eye to eye for about 10 seconds before he freaked out. Instead of running up the tree he was already on, he jumped on my foot and ran to another tree across the driveway. Turned around and the cottontail was right behind me. Similar reaction. I like the critters.

We have a small herd of Mule Deer does hanging around our village. A real pleasure to see. That photo is also a joy. Good luck, mama doe!

Went to a couple shops here in Cleveland. Scored a few tins of Paradoxical, a couple C&D House Reseve Fall '22 and a tin of 2022 Cringle Flake. Also a leather tobacco pouch and a no name bent bulldog.

I would like to thank "trailboss and toshtego" for their sharing of information about the poverty they have seen in Arizona and New Mexico. It helped my interest in supporting a missionary appeal this weekend at my church parish for areas in N.E. Arizona and N. W. New Mexico. The appeal for support described many impoverished areas as well as a surprising report of 1/3 of the Indigenous Americans having been afflicted with the Coronavirus. Though there are many areas elsewhere in the world in need of missionary aid support, it was nice to have been able to contribute toward needs in my own country for a change in this latest appeal.

There are an amazing amount of people that still live primitively, and regardless of why the situation is what it is, support from outside is a blessing.

Put in about 12-13 hours of yardwork and gardening this weekend. Squash are all in. Cut down or pulled and bagged a shite-ton of grass and weeds. Cut a 12' swath outside my fence line. Yard is looking good. Got rid of more garage items. Raised my flag. Now watching Band of Brothers. A great weekend. What have you guys been up to?

Watching Band of Brothers, what a noble film on WWII veterans, Hollywood got it right! For me, the movie "They Were Expendable" is the one for Memorial Day. Our people left behind on Bataan and Corregidor. My uncle, Austin Miles Woodcock, Private, SN 17018057, 27th Material Squadron, 20th Air Base Group, Far East Air Force, U.S. Army. He was left behind and is still over there on Bataan someplace. This is the day I remember him. Not that I met him since he died in 1943 while a POW. His brothers and sister are the ones who kept his memory alive and told me of him. This is the scene in the movie which always get to me.

Thankful that although my family was in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Marine Corps Barracks Lebanon, Desert Storm, Iraqui Freedom, they all returned home…. Fortunate to say the least. Austin Miles Woodcock not so fortunate, but he is in Valhalla with the other great warriors. Today we remember men of great stature.

I didn’t put in nearly that much time, but I did yard work, too. Mowed, trimmed, and pulled out some ivy that had run rather amok.
