I remember Leoville Poyferre. Great choice. It is. I usually won't spend more than $100-150 on a bottle of wine because after that price point I can't justify it. That's why I like the Chateua Leoville. Under $100 and always a good bottle. Never had a bad vintage so far. Bordeaux's are pricey. Leoville Poyfere has always been a good value, sort of. I tend to drink from the other end of France down south. Usually Chateneuf du Pape which has also become pricey and not as "refined" as Bordeaux region wines. You can thank the English for the prices of Bordeaux, they drink it by the boat load. Mostly, I drink Italian or Iberian wines but the French make the very best in my opinion. So, when the occasion calls for it....

Its that time of year and im going to be making a batch of cranberry relish (well on saturday posting the recipe now so i dont forget to)
for those that want the recipe here it is. i got it from this cookboo khttps://www.amazon.com/CAN-RELISHES-Salsa-Sauces-Chutney/dp/1492806471
Ingredients 1. 12 cups cranberries, washed (3 pounds) 2. 6 cups sugar 3. 2 oranges 4. 3 cups water 5. 2 cups orange juice 6. 1 cup Triple Sec Instructions 1. Fill your water bath canner half full, add jars and prepare lids with hot water to soften sealing compound. 2. Rinse berries and pick through to be sure you’ve removed any of the little stems that might have found their way into the bag. 3. Place washed berries in a stock pot. 4. Measure and pour in sugar. 5. Grate the zest from the oranges into the berries and sugar. 6. Remove the white pith from the orange and section the oranges. 7. Chop oranges and add to berries. 8. Add water and orange juice. 9. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. 10. Add Triple Sec. Return to boil, then reduce heat to simmer. 11. Simmer, stirring frequently to keep from boiling over, for 10 minutes. 12. Turn off heat. Remove jars from boiling water bath and fill jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace using canning scoop and funnel. 13. Wipe rims and add lids and rings. 14. Process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes Yield: About 6 pints, or 12 half pints, or 3 pints and 6 half pints… you get the idea…

The last of the turkey on a scooped-out sourdough baguette, Mayo Dijon and Ruffles chips. The last of the Costco Pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Perfect balance of dining on leftovers, without getting sick of it, and not having to throw out food.

Linguine with Clams Sauce. Used Bar Harbor whole baby clams which are very good and Banza Chickpea Flour noodles, higher protein and lower carbs. The only drawback is the lack of gluten to thicken the sauce when the noodles are added to the pan. So, I may have to add cornstarch in the future.

It being 5 degrees (F) this morning a hearty breakfast was indicated. Two fried eggs, two sausages, and two slices of white pudding with toast. Pot of tea made the right way. Thankful for another day.

Made a Pumpkin Pie last night. Naturally, my servings are overly generous. Moderation is key here. So simple and so tasty. Have not had it in years.
