I found a gluten free bread substitute which has has the taste and texture of bread rather than compressed dust. Owing to the lack of gluten, the loaf is small, somewhat like a pain-de-mie. Flours are Brown Rice, tapioca, whole grain sorghum, oat, with potato starch, Canola oil. When toasted, quite a good substitute. Anyone looking for a non-gluten substitute, this is for you. The brand name is "Canyon Bakehouse". From Johnstown, Colorado.

Tonight's dinner is spaghetti and meatballs with Caesar salad. Usually I make small meatballs, sear them in a pan then finish cooking them in the marinara, ladle a big scoop over plain pasta. This time I tried baking big meatballs in a muffin tin then placing them on the pasta which was tossed in the sauce. Difference might be mostly visual - we'll see. Edit: Oh yeah, the kids requested peaches I canned last year with cream on them for dessert - always a winner

In town at the dentist for the final Crown mounting. Lunched at my favorite Mexican joint. Steak Fajita which was excellent. Brought some home as it is a large plate of food. I noticed a feral cat finishing some of the food folks outside had left on their table. When we finished inside, I looked for the kitty with the intent of feeding some of the steak slices. I did not see the cat. I keep an eye out for stray dogs foraging. Not today. I was at the dentist at the same time getting my bridge. Small world.

Pretty tasty for a canned dish, of course you need tortillas. A favored brand. Their Albondigas is a staple for me. The Pozole is also good. I have not had their Menudo and I enjoy Menudo. These days, Menudo and Pozole are of the past in my diet, que lastima!

Tonight it's leftover Dal Makhani over french fries topped with cheese, onions, and cilantro. Kinda like chili cheese fries, Indian style. It's inspired by a little curry house we used to have in town. She would put butter chicken gravy over fries with cheese, spicy onions, & cucumber yogurt sauce and called it "Naughty Fries." I sure miss that place...
