Retsina, I hope. Probably not. I seem to be the only person outside Greece who enjoys white wine flavored with pine resin. Always have a bottle of Kourtaki around. I do enjoy the retsina So do I but it cannot be found here.

Breakfast this fine morning was two poached eggs, a locally made bratwurst and Bush's original beans (no tomato sauce).
Feeling good. The no gluten and no Nightshade family diet seems to be working for me. It is great not have stomach pain and nausea after eating.

Lunch was last weekend's barbequed chicken, deboned and in sauce. On top of gluten free spaghetti. Now, this gluten free pasta is good but not the same. I am switching to Buckwheat Soba noodles hereinafter and forever more. They are expensive but have a taste and texture which is palatable. I do not eat enough of them to be too concerned about price. Not like I am feeding a family of six. They require greater care in cooking and then chilling to restore texture after boiling. Durum wheat pasta can be dropped in a pot of boiling water and one can walk away. Not so with Soba or rice noodles. Gentle boiling required and perfect timing then the chill.

From where I am sitting John, it sounds like a great meal.
I eat out a lot, and I have a lot of options when doing so. But I am jaded, in that I do enjoy cooking, and in comparison, unless you are dining in the upper crust restaurants it is all so-so.
Nothing… and I mean nothing compares to a home cooked meal for the average person. If you are willing to put the time in, it is not an onerous task but it is quite rewarding.
If you have “stupid money” that is a whole nuther thing I reckon, and you can dine with mind blowing meals…. But I am not in that realm.

Homemade Korean beef, green's, cucumber with red onion and some kinda white dressing and rice. A gifted supper from the grandma of one of my wife's students who left Korea 50 years ago when she got married to the students grandfather. This is one very great student who does really well. Her grandparents raise her and her two brothers after their mother was killed. Her grandfather grew up on Alcatraz for over 5 years as a kid! He would like to take my wife and I fishing on the bay and offered a personal tour of Alcatraz. Very interesting person to talk with. And his wife is a great cook!

In town at the dentist for the final Crown mounting. Lunched at my favorite Mexican joint. Steak Fajita which was excellent. Brought some home as it is a large plate of food. I noticed a feral cat finishing some of the food folks outside had left on their table. When we finished inside, I looked for the kitty with the intent of feeding some of the steak slices. I did not see the cat. I keep an eye out for stray dogs foraging. Not today.
