It's really rough waiting for the next Bass Reeves.

It's really rough waiting for the next Bass Reeves. I try to build up at least two episodes since they are short. Last one was excellent. Glad for the outcome. He is teetering on the edge of sanity. Pepper makes a great character, too.

I’m revisiting DCS Foyle. There’s something soothing about the general level of intelligence and civility of that bygone time. An occasional glimpse of a Spitfire doesn’t hurt a bit.

Went through the entire series a couple weeks ago and glad I did. I agree with your comment. I get such a kick out of the Samantha Stewart character.

Started a new series on BritBox, "Archie", the story of Archibald Leesh who became Carrie Grant. Very well done.

"Halls of Montezuma", 1951. Marines taking an island held by the Japanese. Lewis Milestone Director. His wat movies are excellent blend of humanity and heroism. Not just propaganda. With several Veterans of WWII, among them Neville Brand, Richard Boone and Jack Palance. Depiction of the Japanese troops was done honorably as Clint Eastwood did in later movies about the war.

Watched this with four granddaughters and a grandson....The album came out in 1971, and it is still entertaining to that generation.

In FOYLE’S WAR, Peterson pipes appear regularly. Even feauturing as a main “character” in one episode.

Yessir Charlie, it good to see real pipe smokers acting in a movie. They have a number of shows that have pipers still being shown and not cut out by the nanny state.

Watched a 1961 episode of Perry Mason this morning, a young Bobby Troup was a dead ringer for a young Liam Neeson.

Liam Neeson has squandered a great talent. As has Robert Duvall once he discovered his Gus schtick and never looked back. Great losses, both.

Liam Neeson has squandered a great talent. As has Robert Duvall once he discovered his Gus schtick and never looked back. Great losses, both. I think they both go with roles that pay best. I recall when "Open Range" was released, Duvall seems a little embarrassed during an interview and kept tamping down the comments about the movie being so great. He was not impressed by his performance. I read his favorite role was the evangelic preacher some years back. I suspect the cowboy roles may bore him.
