I’d been waiting since last year’s 20% Pease sale to add to Pease in the cellar. There are a few new ones in there as well. To round out my cellar it’s mostly C&D, Pease, Gawith blends for me. I also started cellaring the Warped blends which are also blended by C&D.

I remember enjoying Maltese Falcon, but it's been so long since I dipped into it, I couldn't really say.

I just ordered 10 pouches of Sir Walter Raleigh regular yesterday. I consider this a fine blend. It has a very slight amount of humectant, not goopy and keeps just fine. There may be a slight casing or topping, but to me it just tastes like a nutty caramelized sugar type of affair. Four dollars a pouch at pipes and cigars.com. Excellent deal. Anise and molasses. Yeah, I've read that before. I don't get the anise, but maybe a little molasses.

It’s absolutely DOUSED in it. Many folks can’t taste licorice or anise in tobaccos.

Yeah, I saved many Pease blends for years on purpose but started to cellar them all a little over two years back. They’re so much in my wheelhouse, like a C&D blend, that I know I like them all before I try them.

Just got some La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro cigars and some Cult Blood Red Moon from Watch City Cigar. 😀 Those La Flor Dominicanas with the Ligero leaf are the jam. They are very nice, will be getting another box of them. 😀

Many I’ve got tins of them aging but haven’t opened any yet. Stratford and Piccadilly are a couple of my favorites. My opinion is a minimum of 12 months of age is needed for both. Stratford gets fantastic with serious age. I’ve recently smoked some 2007 and snagged a 2005 tin in Columbus. Piccadilly is a rare to find VaPer with Lat blend. Tasty tasty tasty.

This was my total haul from the NASPC Columbus Show this past weekend. That’s a Luntsquatch T-shirt. My deal of the show was that can of Edgeworth for only $50! I also ended up buying one of these Lunting Sasquatch T-shirts. Just wore it last weekend for the first time. Eugene is a talented artist. (Don’t tell him I said that!)

I just ordered a three-pair pack of good quality 70% merino wool socks from L.L. Bean and I'll get them on Friday. The Old Farmers Almanac is forecasting a colder-than-normal Winter for Ohio and I'm getting ready for it.

The Old Farmers Almanac is forecasting a colder-than-normal Winter for Ohio and I'm getting ready for it. Can’t go wrong with L.L. Bean. I (honestly this time, not like my outfits) found one of their flannel robes at a thrift store not long ago, picked it up for 6 bucks vs 70 new. The quality sparked my interest so I ordered a few more things direct. I know I’m way late to that game, but man, amazing quality.

The Old Farmers Almanac is forecasting a colder-than-normal Winter for Ohio and I'm getting ready for it. It is darn difficult to beat a good pair of wool socks. I've been wearing them year-round for about 25 years. My favorite brand is SmartWool. They seem to wick the best. Darn Tough and Farm to Feet are good, too, probably in that order. F2F seem to wick the least well of those brands, for me. I've got a pair of Filsons I'd put on par with SmartWool, but they cost more so I just go with SW. Good wool socks are more expensive than cotton, but they last for ages and there's just no contest when it comes to comfort.

I'm not ready for winter, yet! I'm still picking tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. But, I've got a drawer of wool socks ready to go.

Currently waiting for a new chainsaw chain that I was hoping would arrive in the morning but looks like it'll be in the afternoon delivery. Oh well. I did as much as I could limbing the trees with the sawzall and bundling the branches before it gets too hot. Should be able to finish the rest tomorrow.
