Good Sunday Morning! It's on the frigid side here at 18° with a cloudy sky. My hair is just long enough to brush up against my hearing aids and make them squeak, so my dear wife will give me a haircut this afternoon. I'm getting the smoking day started with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall Dublin and the insulated mug is full of fresh coffee. I solve that problem with my hearing aids by pulling my hair back into a pony tail. 😎

Started the day with a bowl of Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob and coffee. Today was a trap-shooting league day, so I took some Friar's Bayou cake and one of my slightly bent billiards for the drive to and from the range.

Good Morning Again! It's warmed up to whole 23° here with a cloudy sky. My last smoke in the workshop for now is a mixture of C&D's Bayou Morning Flake and Haunted Bookshop in the Upshall Dublin. The 50/50 mix is a very fine smoke and the combination of the two bring out the best of each one. I don't know if I should call the blend Bayou Bookshop or Haunted Bayou. Still some coffee left in the insulated travel mug and then it's back to the house for me. Have a good Sunday, my friends! You and Silver are gonna have to get together on your Bayou Morning mixtures. You make Haunted Bayou, and he makes Friar's Bayou.

2021 Warped Cloud Hopper in a Dagner Pipes Design poker cob. I dislike the generic overuse of the term "underrated" in general these days, but this is likely the best sleeper pipe tobacco I've smoked these past few years. This blend still has no reviews (somehow) on TR, and yet, it's the best AA Dominican Criollo leaf in ANY blend. I have pounds of C&D Habana Daydream, I quite like G.L. Pease Key Largo, and I love blending well-aged C&D Pennsylvania broad leaf cigar wrapper into blends to change them up. This cloud hopper is Dominican Criollo, Perique, yellow & red VA, and a smidge of Italian air-cured leaf pressed and sliced into flakes. It's the only cigar blend I've come across that doesn't taste like a pipe tobacco but truly tastes like a complex Dominican cigar in the pipe. This would also include the several defunct McClelland cigar blends of old. It's really aging beautifully in the jar as well. I already put 6 more tins of this in the cellar but will be stashing many more. I've also been stocking all the other Warped blends based on this and I haven't even popped any of them yet.

But… it is a pretty quick trip to SF from ABQ, made it more times than I can count. SF is a better place to bunk down in, but I wish in my travels I had the time to visit Don. Going to have to happen on my own dime. Don is a really nice guy, he ranks number 1.5 on my preference of hanging out with a pipe maker. adui holds numero uno.

Good Morning and Welcome to Spring! It's 25° here with a partly cloudy sky. Today I'll make the trip to the hardware store and supermarket that I postponed. In the backyard workshop and getting the smoking day going with a bowl of 50/50 Haunted Bookshop and Bayou Morning Flake in a Savinelli Venere 128. The usual insulated travel mug of coffee is tucked underneath my jacket.

Up with the dogs this morning, and while they take care of some early Monday business, I'm puffing on spill-tray leftovers in a Nording. Twenty-three degrees out there, so the pups won't be long, then I'm back to bed for a short while.
