SPC Hogshead in my James Upshall Bark Canadian. I was very happy when I came across this pipe a few years ago. It’s a doubly rare find… first it's a small Upshall. Barry and Ken carried on Charatan's tradition of mostly making large (group 5+) pipes. Although they stamped this pipe as group 4, it’s actually group 2 in size. The second rareness is that it is rusticated. Upshall carried on Charatan's tradition of making mostly smooth pipes with good grain.  |

Finished my work week this afternoon. Looking forward to spending the long weekend with my brother who is coming in to visit from another state. We're registered to go on a pontoon boat tour of Norris Lake, led by a park ranger. The weather forecast calls for rain, but they've been wrong before. This evening I'm smoking some Warped Cloud Hopper that @zach sent me. Smoking it in a Cayuga Rhodesian from Paul's Pipe Shop.

Good Morning! It's 44° here with a cloudy sky and rain is on the way. Not much doing this afternoon except for some light chores so I'll check the schedule for a ball game to watch. I had to rehydrate a jar of Limerick VA Flake because it's rather dry when shipped and that's my first pipe of the day in the Peterson Rosslare 106. So far it tastes fine, but I may have added just a bit too much moisture. Since I'll have to go through this with every new tin, some experimentation will get the moisture level right. And, of course, there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the side.  |
