In Midsommar, floral notes are coming from the Basma. Izmir is usually more musty/footy notes and I’m not really detecting it so much as a floral Basma Oriental component. Cool to hear your thoughts on Midsommar, I have some waiting in my mailbox that I won’t get until Tuesday, I have been curious. I’m smoking Salty Dogs in a churchwarden.

Cool to hear your thoughts on Midsommar, I have some waiting in my mailbox that I won’t get until Tuesday, I have been curious. I’m smoking Salty Dogs in a churchwarden. I put it firmly in strong C&D burley category and was a bit surprised to find this. Based on the description, tasting notes review, and being a limited release (unnumbered though). You need to like blends like C&D burley flakes, Haunted Bookshop, etc to like this Midsommar blend. They say it’s cased in rum & molasses but I’ve only been getting the very faintest incling of molasses. It’s a great blend for those of us C&D burley specifically, burley hounds. For anyone else, I’d say, not so much. Full white burley flavor, hint of floral Basma and hint of sweet sums it up. Not aromatic as the marketing may trick you into believing. I’m smoking more of it now in a 1970 Dr. Grabow Crown Duke apple.

Eccentric in an Egro calabash. I think it’s an excellent tobacco, but I haven’t yet found which pipes it smokes best in.

Good Sunday Morning! It's 65° with a cloudy sky here at dawn. This afternoon I have to make a supermarket run and I hope the forecast pm thunderstorm doesn't hit until I'm back home. The smoking day has started with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the 1950 Dunhill Lovat and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

Plum Pudding S.R. in the Kristi freehand...far too large a bowl for something this slow burning. It'll take three coffees to get through this one .

Good Late Morning! It's 79° here with a cloudy sky and the threat of a thunderstorm looms over the neighborhood. I just finished a bowl of three-year-old Limerick VA Flake from a tin that I snuck out of the cellar. Delicious! I only have one tin left and I need to cellar more of it when it becomes available again along with more Wessex Brown VA Flake. Brunch time.

Happy Sunday, all! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob and coffee on the front porch. Upper 60s, overcast and humid with a strong breeze here. It rained a bit this morning, with more expected at times this afternoon and evening.

It rained a bit this morning, with more expected at times this afternoon and evening. Maricopa county has received a whopping 4 inches so far this year, here in Gilbert, the “island effect” takes whatever rain in the region right around us, I doubt that we have gotten half that amount. 🙁

Good Evening! It's 78° here with a mostly cloudy sky and another thunderstorm is on the way for later on at about 8:00. I was just outside on the deck and smoked a half bowl of aged Limerick VA Flake in the Dunhill Lovat before dinner. Have a great night, everybody!

Esoterica Tobacciana Dunbar. I won't provide a review. Its great, I love it, will smoke it again and again. I think it is the only shag cut I smoke.
I am smoking it in my Peterson Sherlock Holmes series pipe. How appropriate. But I will not keep it in a persian slipper hanging from my mantle.

Good Morning! It's 68° and humid with a mostly clear sky, but clouds are going to move in and bring along some rain here later. This afternoon my wife and I have to make a supermarket run. We also have to stop at the fabric store. While she shops, I'll look for a self-healing cutting mat for my hobby bench. The first bowl of the day is aged Limerick VA Flake in the Don Carlos Two Note and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!
