My feelings on Midsommar on first exposure are . . . uncertain. That one will need more time.
BSW, though, is a fine smoke I should dip into more often. This bowl was a bit difficult to keep lit, but I didn't really rub it out or even break it up very well. I just kinda stuffed small chunks in there. Turns out fold-and-stuff doesn't work as well with a crumble cake.

Some really old Full Virginia Flake, as black as Stalin’s heart, but much more approachable.
The sky is clouding up above Vegas, I would love to see some rain.

Everyone that pops one of them tins, says it could use more time.

Good Morning! It's 64° with a cloudy sky and everything is wet here after yesterday's rain. Another afternoon of light chores and more time at the hobby bench. Opening the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Don Carlos Two Note and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 65°, breezy, and cloudy out here on the deck. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some more rain showers today. Currently smoking a bowl of Bayou Morning Flake in the half-bent smooth Don Carlos with a second travel mugga coffee on the side and listening to streaming classical music on WQXR in NYC.

Morning, all! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop and coffee on the front porch. I'm on the back deck now, with a bowl of Silver Strike in the same pipe. Just got done picking some vegetables from the garden. Low 70s and sunny here, headed to 80. The rain we've had the past couple days means I don't have to drag the hose around.

Cleaned off the back porch/deck/patio with the leaf blower, trimmed and mowed the back lawn. Will continue with general tidying after this bowl of C&D Innsmouth in the self-made, smaller, rusticated "55".

Good Late Afternoon! It's 74°, very humid, and with a cloudy sky out here on the deck. I did some light chores and not much else today as this weather makes my back hurt. Currently smoking a bowl of Limerick VA Flake in the Don Carlos and there's a glass of cold water on the side.

Turns out fold-and-stuff doesn't work as well with a crumble cake. The Midsommar has been honestly pretty lackluster. Even being the huge C&D burley fan that I am I don't see anything special about the release. It's very woody-forward and flat white burley with some mild hints of the Orientals and I certainly don't see why it became some sort of limited release. I've smoked something like 8 bowls of it, the other tin will stay cellared for many years to come. It'll still be great for what it is in five years.

Thanks, Zach. That was kinda my thought, as well: lackluster.
And I just finished my bowl of LBF. That Ashton is not a terribly large pipe (it's an XX), but it has a capacious chamber and LBF smokes slowly.
