Well, I lied. I could not for the life of me get the 150th to take a light. Tried picking it several times. Finally gave up, knocked it out and reloaded. Same results. Might have to reserve that one for wider, shallower bowls.
Poor, unfortunate me, I've settled for smoking Marlin Flake.

Good Morning! It's already 70° here with a mostly clear sky and the high temperature will be near 90°. This afternoon I have to drive Janet to her doctor's appointment and then I'll spend some time at the hobby bench. Starting off the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Two Star Special smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 81° with high cloudiness and hazy sunshine out here on the deck. Listening to streaming classical music on WQXR in NYC and getting ready to read some more of my book. Currently smoking a bowl of well-aged FVF in the BBB billiard and there's a second travel mugga coffee on the side.

Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Monday cob and coffee on the front porch. Moved to the back deck for the second bowl. It's 73, headed to 82, with sun and clouds, breezy with much less humidity than yesterday. I picked some vegetables from the garden, and will pull all the bolted lettuce today.

Friar's Bayou in the Monday cob on the back deck. Just enjoying the milder, less humid weather. It's pushing 90° with choking humidity so I'm finished smoking for the day. I just can't enjoy an afternoon pipe in this weather so I'll have to wait until sometime in September. lol

I am very fortunate to be able to smoke indoors. I count it among my many blessings.
Another is that my girlfriend is a pipe smoker and lets me smoke in her house too.
I am well and truly blessed.

Good afternoon ladies and gents, it's a balmy 100ºF with a heat index of 109ºF today in the southland... Last free day before my classes begin for the fall term... Sooo... It's a nice bowl of Dunhil's Durbar in Dunhill Shell Bent... I might have one bowl let of this old blend so, I'll have to save it for another time... A bottle of Gatorade on the side... gotta replenish those electrolytes right...

I find Prilep to be more woody, sour, citrusy than the sweet Orientals such as Basma or Yenidje. I suppose it would all depend upon how it's cased & blended though.

I wish Wilke's pages would include a section that tells you what's in it. I don't particularly want to read through a bready, fruity, tangy, sweet, earthy review of something just to parse out what components are in the blend. It's fine for that to be there, too, but I'd sure like something straightforward that just tells me what's in it and what you were going for with it, like most sites do.

Marry her quick. My wife and I have been together for 40 years and married for 36. She grew up with her Dad chain smoking a pipe. As a result, she loves the smell of a pipe and pipe smoking, even Latakia, is just fine inside the house or while we’re driving in the car. That’s extremely rare to find; grab it while you can!!!

I'm smoking Sutliff Pipe Force Episode II in an MMC Elite Cadel cob reverse calabash system pipe. It's available on Missouri Meerschaum's website directly but I'm not seeing it elsewhere.
Episode II
A mellow, sweet mixture of bright, red, and stoved Virginia offers the exceptional base for smokey Latakia, floral Kentucky, spice of stoved Katerini, and the ambrosial berry and spice of Katerini Perique. The result is a harmony of flavor in perfect balance.
Pipe Force, a series that celebrates pipe smoking by showing innovation isn't a thing of the past, there are still frontiers to explore.
