Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Thursday cob and coffee on the front porch. Clear skies and 57 degrees with a breeze off the lake. I'm gonna move to a sunny spot to warm up!

Sucks to hear that about steamworks. I'm sure they will make it right. Hope they don't have to recall the whole lot like they had to do for one of the crf releases. I had bought about 10 tins affected by that recall, I have yet to have one with mold. I refused the option of returning mine. Pretty lucky. I still have mine as well from the June 2016 Carolina Red Flake release. Smoked a few of those tins and no mold. SmokingPipes already refunded me on the Steamworks tin, no backups left of it. Sent them a couple pictures. My 21 tins of Pease arrived today from the 20% off sale. 5 of my tins already have a year to a year and a half of age, and my 3 tins of Windjammer are 11/2021 so I’m stoked about that. I had I think two more tins left of Windjammer in the cellar and this will enable me to open one really soon. Windjammer is my newest favorite navy flake blend since it’s release. For now, I’m going to smoke Spring 2022 C&D House Reserve (1,200 tins made for brick & mortar shops only) in an MM Country Gentleman cob. Only a couple more bowls of this one left. A very comfortable VA/burley/black cavendish flake doused in rum and molasses. A great codger smoke, I wish they’d make it a regular release.

I’ve gotten pretty lucky my last several large tin orders of Pease and C&D. I wanna say my last big C&D tin order sometime last year had a couple tins over 2 years of age on them. While I don’t mind the age for the cellar, occasionally it sort of backfires on me because I’m purposely trying to order fresh for the current year to stage up having multiple “vintages” aging at different years.

Good Morning! It's a bit chilly here at 45° with a starry, clear sky. This afternoon I'll have to make a supermarket run and then just goof off. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Savinelli Venere 128 rusticated billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one, everybody!

Happy Friday, all! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Friday cob and coffee on the front porch. Had to run an errand, and now I've got some Friar's Bayou in the same pipe. It's 67 and partly sunny here. Good day for some yard work, eventually.

Good Evening! It's 56° with a clear sky out here on the deck. I'm enjoying a nightcap of well aged McC #27 Virginia that's a gift from a friend here the forum. This is a blend of flue cured orange and red tobaccos pressed into a shag Flake. It's a medium bodied smoke that has wonderfully mellowed over the years and is burning nicely in the Stanwell 29 smooth billiard. Have a great night, everybody!
