Really? That’s cool. I’m only at the point where I’m experimenting with flavors/casing, I hadn’t even started to think about tobacco additions. Now I’m thinking about it How do you do your casing? I’ll give the short version, there’s a bit more to it than this but it this is the basic overview of what I’m doing. For my plum flavor, I soaked dried plums in Everclear for two months, sprayed on tobacco, jarred for a few hours, then dried the tobacco. Jarred again and waited a month before smoking.

I made an Indian dish for dinner and for some reason, after I eat Indian food, I get a craving for Mac Baren Vanilla Roll Cake, so I’m smoking some in a Butz Choquin Origine.

C&D Palmetto Balkan in my Don Warren Apple. John, beautiful grain on this one. Does it say "Human Folly Series" on the side of it? Inquiring "busybody" minds want to know. Back in 2018 and 2019 Don Gilmore of Don Warren Pipes and Marty Pulvers of Pulvers' Prior Briar did a collaborative series called Human Folly/Human Tragedy. Marty was the idea guy and Don made the pipes. You have to know Marty and his reputation to properly understand, but Marty would pick some historical human folly or tragedy and then pick a pipe shape to go with it. Don them made some number of pipes but varied the finish, stain colors, and stem material so each one was unique. There were seven shapes in the series: 1 - Paradise Lost - Apple 2 - Helen of Troy - Yachtsman 3 - Pompeii- Volcano 4 - Children's Crusade - Pickaxe 5 - The Plague - Figural carved Plague Doctor 6 - The Inquisition - Churchwarden 7 - Genocide - Calumet Marty wrote a short blurb for each shape in the series. The only two I can find easily are: Paradise Lost - An Apple, commemorating eating just one extra fruit, thereby falling from grace and losing Paradise forever. Helen of Troy - A Yachtsman, commemorating 'the face that launched a thousand ships', Helen's perfidy & the war that followed, culminating in the razing of a City-State and then the demise of the soldiers that failed to sail home safely after that tragedy. You can see pics of the shapes here: www.pulverspriorbriar.com/human-folly-seriesDon has a couple pipes from this series still in his Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/DonWarrenPipes?ref=notif_nfyfs&order=date_desc

Good Morning! It's 10° here with some snow on the way. Nothing much planned for today so, like Pete, I'll probably just hibernate. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Savinelli Venera 128 smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my insulated work coat. Have a good one everybody!

WhenI got up this morning was a frigid 16º, snowing and windy. The Sheriff closed all traffic in the county as the roads were impassable due to ice. Now it's a balmy 23º and the sun is making a weak attempt at showing up. The tellers of fairy tales (the weatherman) tells us that we will be in single digits overnight. Russ come get your wandering weather!! We're not supposed to be this cold in Bama!! A Schoenleer Canadian full of Jack Knife Plug... A several bottles of water alongside...

That's hilarious ... and true! 😄 James Spann is a weatherman for the local Birmingham AL. news station. Two years ago he had a bad day and predicted Armageddon was coming. Everything shut down on his predictions. It never happened! So in response he put together this video as a maya culpa. Self deprecating at it's best. All was forgiven!

Russ, cold and I don't go well together. I become entertainment when it hits 40º so when we see the single numbers it time to hunker down and hibernate. Had to bury mom about 13 years ago on the 4th of Jan with the temp at -4º and a freezing rain. When I get hot in the summer I just think about that and my body temp drops 10º Three Nun's in a Dunhill Shell Prince... More water on the side...
