A COLD day again! Woke up to 10º in Bama today. Would have stayed in bed had I not had to go to class this morning. It has warmed up to 27º so I guess it'll be ok.. Just received a pkg in the mail with some Flying Dutchman Match so I filled a Danish Made Pipe, Soborg, to go with it. The last of a pot of coffee alongside... Will switch to water when this is finished... Have you ever had a day when nothing you type is easy? Seems that today my brain and fingers cannot get together... PuffOn me Hearties, Puff On...

Trying another experimental modification to Old Joe Krantz, Maple Syrup cased (the genuine tree juice version, not the artificially flavored stuff). I’m smoking it in a Diamondback cob.

The sweetness from it actually has the Perique open up a bit more in a flavorful way, not sharpness. It did give it a Mac Baren flair, I’ve noticed Mac Baren’s use of real maple syrup casing for some time, but never so clearly.

Sounds like we have another mad scientist in the mix! Tried to insert a GIF file to emphasize the point but, failed miserably... Oh the shame of it...

I went and bought a new Savinelli dry system p-lip rusticated 620 Oom Paul and this J.C. Newman cigar ashtray after work this evening. Bought locally at my B&M pipe shop, which I posted about in the mail thread. This one is rusticated, my 1970 Savinelli 620 Classica series is sandblasted and a fishtail bit. This is my first p-lip stem and first go with a Savinelli balsa filter. The inaugural smoke is 2016 Sam Gawith St. James Flake, which as everyone knows is the best VaPer tobacco there is, along with Escudo.

Nice cob I like that one. I am so glad Missouri Meerschaum brought back the Diamondback. The vintage models were getting expensive as estates and hard to come by. I haven’t bought one of the new models yet but will remedy that very soon.

Was 20° and too cold to pipe the last couple days. It's supposed to be up to 66° today, so much better. I have Captain Black and SV English Mixture on the way via economy mail from Pipes and cigars.com. Stay warm, my friends and enjoy your puffing.
