Cold at 19 but sunny for now. A few munchies earlier, getting organized for big brunch with the ol' gals soon at their home across the street. Always interesting with what goes on after fooding & quick cleanup

Looks great...we brunched on leftover cream chipped beef over buttermilk biscuits , with half a hard boiled egg chopped over each bowl...a small side of your dish would have been welcomed, but not needed.
It has been years since I have had chipped beef, I used to love it at the Naval postgraduate school in Monterey.
I did not serve there, I delivered as a civilian, but the restaurant was open to the public. I could eat all I wanted for under $5…. Those were the days my friend, too bad to see an end!😉

Breakfast was a bagel from Brooklyn with one half schmeered with cream cheese. The other half topped with a folded green chile omelet and a strip of bacon.
I am going in for colonoscopy and endoscopy this week. So, fasting is in order starting tomorrow. I have assembled all the ingredients to make a smoked salmon spread using wet smoked Alaskan salmon. Much less costly than Lox or Scottish smoked salmon and almost as tasty. That will be follow the med procedure.

The fasting is worse than the procedure...I found that after I got over the "hungry hump", I really had no desire to eat. I hope that the procedure can nail down any issues, John.

When I did the poblano chiles in the skillet meal, raw they had no heat...cooked them in the dish and the temp. really elevated.
I have no previous experience with Poblanos.

I've got a pot of Sunday sauce with meatballs and Italian sausage simmering on the stove for tonight's dinner. There's a baguette sliced and drying for garlic bread to accompany. Ill cook the pasta just before dinner is served. The kids will be over to help eat it all.

Some music to dine by.

Haha, I'll probably put Dino or Frank on the old Victrola when we eat!

Thanks, Charlie. This has been a long time coming. My fourth attempt at the colonoscopy procedure. I do not mind a fast or the purging. Did it once for a Sigmoidoscopy many years ago. This will be a trip further up the lazy river to the headwaters. Past radiology has shown a metal chunk in my abdomen. I will be curious if they find it. I suspect it is a tooth crown that slipped down my gullet long ago. If could have hooked onto soft tissue in the gut causing partial blockage. I aim for clean drainage which is complete and absolute. Or, it could be from abdominal surgery decades ago, something left behind. It is small so not a clamp or such.

To be usual sups light after usual pig-out with the ol' gals. 1-cup store brand bulk corn, a Zweigles skin-on white dawg, 9mins on the G.Foreman indoor grill. A waste of time trying to fill out an order from Yelloh/Schwan, 45mins pushing computer buttons, no space to finish order. Last time planning on doing all that, just nonsence without doing the ritual via phone like doing same for near 20 years.

Jeepers, John. No wonder you've had some distress. Chunks of metal are not native to the human gut. Hope they find it and can do something about it.

When I was in grade school, any state or county worker could get a hot meal in the school lunch room ,for 40 cents...desert & coffee or milk if they wanted...and no charge to park their covered wagon

My own Chicken Parmigiana with red lentil pasta. Although lacking mozzarella, I topped with Pecorino Romano and that worked out fine. Touriga Nacianal to drink, a sturdy red wine from Portugal. I believe this is the grape varietal which is made into Port wine. It also is an excellent table wine.

Two eggs over easy, two strips of Beeler's Peppered Bacon, one egg bagel from New Yorker Bagel Co. Pot of tea. Fasting begins tomorrow. Meanwhile, no veggies or fruits allowed.
