El Paso Saddlery is having a 20% off sale. Not gonna last long. epsaddlery.com/I have several leather products from them and recommend them. However, I just went to their website and there is no mention of any sale.

I got the notice by email this morning. Sale ends Nov 3. EPS has a very long track-record as screw-ups on the ‘net. Use coupon code SPOOKY.

EPS makes nice stuff, but I haven't used my 1911 shoulder rig or my Tom Threepersons holster for my 44 Special Blackhawk. Maybe it's too good for me.

Amazing how effective electrical contact cleaner is. When I hooked up the pipe cabinet on Sunday, no lights… unplugged and plugged in a connector and they came on, although dim, figured that was the wattage… possible corrosion on the contacts, but could not find the can of cleaner. Found it tonight, cleaned the contacts and the wattage seemed to double. I think I paid $15? For an 11oz. Spray can a few years back, so it stays in the house instead of the Arizona hot garage. The stuff works great when called upon, nothing compares. imgur.com/a/LigPmgy

For seven days I have tried to move my cell phone from our local carrier who discontinuing service to T-Mobile. I have never encountered more incompetence and stupidity. All of their people on the phone are in the Philippines, I am guessing from the accents and rapid fire speech. Now, I am fond of people from the Philippines. I worked with many immigrants many years ago and appreciate them. However when trying to talk with people 7,925 miles away on phone lines challenged by Solar activity and and other geo hazards, it is mighty hard to understand what is being spoken. This is especially true when these ladies let loose with high word per minute speeches. You guys who were stationed at Subic Bay or Clark AFB know of what I write.
So, tomorrow I make the 90 mile journey back to town to see if a living humanoid, not an android, who is neither Vulcan, Borg, or Romulan can figure out how to make the phone work and the account active. This makes me so tired!

I know what you are talking about John. I work for a company with a global footprint, and it is a crapshoot when I need IT...love the Indian folk, have two friends in Hyderabad, but solving issues is problematic...once got a woman in Wales and felt like I hit the lottery.
Not a race thing, it is a communication thing and It sucks for me and sucks for them to say and hear...What?, What?, What?

Questa, NM, mentioned in the story is the murder capital of the State and ranks high for the USA. There is no one capable of completing investigations. If a perp is found our local DA office is so incompetent the chance of conviction is so low as to be not worth prosecuting. The NMSP, is a reasonable well trained organization and proud of their tradition of service. T However, they are rife with corruption. I personally have seen it twice in cases I was involved in. Not bribery corruption, b per se, but destroying evidence and falsifying reports to protect the politically connected, There are many decent officers trying to do right. My take on the article is an effort to complete an investigation or many without inference by elected officials and other power figures. Should a case reach the indictment phase, the trial will be scrambled by the DA office who knuckles under to political influence or is simply too incompetent at the clerk level to file the right paper's at the right time. Woe unto you victim of crime. You will never receive justice. This is the reason so many take the law into their own hands.

I agree...nice folk, I just often just cannot understand them if they have a heavy accent.

Saw this metal button on the side of the cabinet...touch it once, low dim, another medium light, another bright. Hey, it didn't come with a manual, and contact cleaner is still good...my story and I am sticking to it.

Not a race thing, it is a communication thing and It sucks for me and sucks for them to say and hear...What?, What?, What? I used to have to get tech support for some very expensive equipment on nights and weekends. I got invited to a wedding in India and got a call when they had their first baby. Australian tech support is great. They aren't anything like the Aussies that come over here and feel like they have to put on a show. (of course, being a Texan, I probably shouldn't fuss too much about that). I had a nice 3 hour conversation with a guy in Edinburgh. And so many where I couldn't understand the first thing they said and had to escalate to someone who spoke English. I've had an Indian friend for 25 years and we can only communicate with email because I can't understand a word he says. I'm just not good with accents.

Yep, at Exxon they always put me with the Engineers from India, I had a knack that I could understand them. They were smart but no common sense.
