On my new game plus second go around with Starfield. Sent a repaired Motherboard loaded with a 12 gen Intel and some DDR4 memory to my friend in Tulsa he should be able to play newer games now. All he has to do is install in his older tower with a new CPU cooler. Took a four hour nap this afternoon with the snoring chihuahua.

Well, that comes as not so good news, indeed, my friend. How are you feeling about it all? Thanks for the kind thoughts, Russ, Urbino, Charlie, and Pete. To answer your question, Urb, right now I am concentrating on the pain in my gut which is more severe. Could be reaction from eating the wrong foods after the procedure. I am hoping it is not bowl perforation which is uncommon. The MD had some trouble getting the camera past the mass and that could have irritated the colon. Eating might have aggravated that. So, I am watching for indications of fever. Hopefully, the pain will subside in a day. More to the point of your comment, I am a bit bewildered. There has been no cancer in my blood family that I know of. So, how this lousy gremlin got in there is a question. I may have mentioned that I tried for years to get this procedure done and wish it had been so. The mass might have been spotted earlier and delt with. Most adults have a colonoscopy long before age 72. Focusing on what did not happen when it should have is not productive so I am putting that aside and focusing on the next steps. I am concerned about this revolting development, as "Riley" usually remarks, but can accept that with age comes medical issues. I am not getting into what ifs until I know more. Hopefully, it is not a cancerous mass, ditto that if it is there no spreading to other organs. So, I am not in panic mode. I am certainly disappointed with the slowness of the other clinics in dealing with the problem. I hope the surgeon referral can move ahead with speed and vigor. Arranging for abdominal surgery on a statt basis is complicated. I cannot leave my home unattended for days in mid winter. So, I am hoping for help in caring for my animals and keeping the heat going in the house. Then there is recovery. I had emergency abdominal surgery in 1978 and it is a slow recovery process. Perhaps surgical techniques have improved and the sectioning of the bowl can be done without a big incision of the abdomen.

Well, it sounds like you've got a grip on it. Most people would have a very hard time staying in the present rather than getting all tangled up in what might have happened in the past or might happen in the future. You've got the mental strength of 10 men. Hang in there.
Sorry about the pain. Hopefully, like you said, it's just some irritation and will clear up soon.

We just had our semi-annual transformer blow-out and the whole part of our neighborhood is without power. My smartphone is working fine on the network's data system. My wife's oxygen generator is down as well, so I just set up an oxygen bottle for her to use until the utility company gets the power back on. It's a good thing that we have a good supply of the bottled oxygen on hand and we should have power again in a few hours.

That was a record time for getting it restored, I think.

John, I am very sorry to hear of all this you are going through. It well qualifies for what we used to call “a kick in the slats.” I’m glad though to see that, like so many of us OFs you have built a reservoir of resistance to sturm und drang. There is some solace in Est quod est. The delays in addressing your needs are atrocious, but worry and fretting can only make things worse. I’m pulling for you and a good and timely resolution. As all of us here are.

Thank you Bob and Brad.
On the phone this morning trying to organize things and not getting very far. The initial consultation with the surgeon is a month from now. So much for "Stat" in medical terms. Trying to decide which appointment to keep and which to reschedule for next week. The Cardiologist meet had a three month wait time. I cannot reach my primary care MD for advice on which is more urgent.

toshtego, buddy, we hate to hear that, but Karen and I will be praying for you. Stay chill if possible. Drove 130 miles to 2 dermatologists appointments yesterday and I have to do it 3x next week. Trip to internist today 100 miles round trip. At least it's on nice country roads with light traffic. Itching as bad as ever right now.

I left a recorded phone message, an email via Patient Portal and another message with the live person answering the phone. Same message for my PCP. Hoping she gets one of them an responds.

Good. Hope you hear back soon, John.
In infinitely less important news, my accomplishment for the day is getting the flint in my favorite Old Boy replaced. I didn't have any replacement flints, so I cannibalized a partial one from an Old Boy I don't use as much. Being about half used up, the little bugger turned sideways most of the way down the tube and did not want to come back out. Finally dislodged it with a toothpick.
Corona flints are now on order.

I’ve been doing it for years. Zippo flints are a little longer. So, there might be long term effects on the strength of the spring, but I’ve been doing it in my current Old Boy for six or seven years.

I've got plenty of Zippo flints. Thanks.

I find aggravating.

Apparently, both FedEx and the local USPS are still backed up from last week's winter weather. Everything is running into delays once it gets to Memphis.
