Sitting in the waiting room for my annual doctor appointment. Doc had a new sleep med for me to try. It's called Quviviq, because what else would you call it? It's so new, my insurance may not pay for it, but at this point, I kinda don't care. Well, I'll care. It'll be $500 a month if they don't. Might still be worth it if it works well enough, but I'll still care.

I would, too, Urb. That’s definitely care-worthy.

Oh please insurance never pays for anything good or new but at least you don't have to pay full price! The list of stuff they won't cover for me is pretty daunting after dealing with my ankle for getting close to a year now. Oh they will gladly pay for the generic version but you pay more for the brand name and no generic is not always the same thing. My insurance does not pay for my pain management prescriptions but will pay for the visit every two months and the drug test. Cause you have to be carful giving three hydrocodone pills a day to a 59 year old man with four plates and thirteen screws and a long list of spine ailments. My insurance gladly paid for three stent procedures and a couple of nights all inclusive ICU stays. They paid for the ambulance ride to other the side of the freeway after a in house all in one vein clinic put me in danger of clots and not the friendly kind. They did not pay for my walker or cane but paid for one velcro after surgery shoe. They did not pay for three antibiotics cause they were not on the list of one size fits all. Well that's about all the rant I care to muster on the topic.

Rather than the dirt, if I cant get gravel, I would rather have sand — of which there is a lot on the Sandhills. Sand is excellent when it gets wet. We can get sand, which grass won't grow on and it washes down the hill. I have been stuck in sand way more than mud m.

I've found that when I have a long period of sleeplessness, 2 nights of Lunesta puts me right for a good while. It isn't good to take it every night for me. YMMV.

I spent some time, over the last few days, breaking down a few dish-gardens ,and repotting some spider plants, and jade ,and what not for the coming spring. Working with live plants and fresh soil always has a calming effect on me, and takes me back to my early days and a newly married young man. One of the first things I did when I purchased my first home was build a 10 by 20 greenhouse, and for the next few years we enjoyed growing house plants and bedding plants for friends and family.

This could be as simple as an old broken seal around a bathroom vent on the roof, keep your fingers crossed, and check it as soon as you can...a tiny leak can cause big problems!

I passed through Tucson today, it was not raining but when I got to PHX, it was coming down in buckets. If you got rain today, maybe it is a minor leak…
I had threesuch leaks, one was from the A/C in the attic, the primary drain pan was plugged the secondary filled and was rusted out.
The other two were at different times the upstairs toilets were never anchored right when the house was built in 1997, and they leaked for some time before it became evident.
All three costed a bundle in remodel fees, and was a huge disruption. The-only upside is I got the name of all the subcontractors on a sign inside the cupboard of my home. That plumbing company is on my shite list.
Lets hope you have minor issues.🤞

I'm going to miss most of you guys, but I can't put up with the pansy snowflakes that have to lecture their betters if they see something that hurts their feelings. Some people just can't help but try to correct the real world.

Been a strange couple of days. Yesterday went to the sawbones for a routine check up and was told that my PSA levels jumped up. SO he says that he wants to do a biopsy. I asked if there was something that was less drastic to do and he said there was. Stop the testosterone therapy I've been on for the past 10 years and see if it is effecting the prostate. I said that should have been the lead in answer. Not the secondary approach. Why do they always go for the most drastic first?
Then today after my morning bible study class I lead one of the members asked me to assist him in getting signed up with the VA for benefits. So I went to his house and the process has changed considerably since I signed up 15 years ago. He had to set up his online account, then had to be verified no less that 7 times the last of which was to have a video chat with an examiner just to validate he was who he said he was. He was still working that through when I had to leave to meet a man from another church for lunch.
He wanted to discuss and issue that he is facing and wanted my input. We went to the best BBQ place in town and had an amazing bowl of Brunswick Stew. This was the best I've has since I moved to Alabama 24 years ago from Georgia. Loaded with pulled pork and brisket!
Came back home and should be working on a sermon for Sunday, but, I'm unable to concentrate at this time.... At least the wife is sleeping so I won't ne interrupted with political commentary until I want to watch some TV tonight... She's good that way...

My gardening skills these past several years have been the utter destruction of plant life.

Hope you find a good resolution to your problem, John. I know stopping a medicine you need (or you wouldn't be taking it in the first place) isn't a great solution. Hopefully there's a better one available once you and the doc figure out what's going on.

Left the house early meeting up with a group of friends for breakfast ahead of going to our weekly pastor group meeting. And after the conference was concluded went to my home church to work out a problem with the sound system. Sunday morning the pastor was hearing a radio station coming through the audio monitors in the pulpit. Spent several hours trying to identify which microphone was the problem. What I did find was that the sound board is miss labeled! The best thing I was able to do was to isolate the radio signal. Most of the system was functional but, the speakers for the congregation do not produce any sound. So, I’ll be getting a copy of the sound board diagram and try to straighten it out soon... Sounds like a party. When I was a teenager, our church had a problem for several months with the sound system intermittently picking up CB chatter from passing trucks and blasting it out to the congregation. As you might imagine, some of it was a bit, uh, colorful. This happens when the pastor is bringing the message and has to compete with the airwaves. I think I have it sorted out for now. We will see Sunday when I do the preaching. Could be interesting if Rick and Bubba come through!!

It has been a while since I played chess. What is a good program these days? The last one I played online was a simple block pattern. I don't even remember if I know how to play chess... Try chess.com, John I’ll ditto the chess.com recommendation. You can play for free or pay for more features. Play vs computer or vs people live or daily. Daily is effectively postal chess with one to five days to make a move depending on clock selection. Also, lots of learning resources.
