Hey Hombre, you have given me a belly ache I have not had since I was a little boy! That came to mind post surgery. From the movie "Hombre".

Surprised to still be here. I guess it's because we don't have any moderation, just Hall Monitors. So, I'll stick around till I can't take the frustration or they kick me out. I've been trying to get off of Lexapro after taking it for 20+ years and it's rough. I find myself crying over the wife's Hallmark movies. The romantic comedies. I tried to block the hall monitors, but it's not working for some reason. I wish they would block me.

I’ll ditto the chess.com recommendation. You can play for free or pay for more features. Play vs computer or vs people live or daily. Daily is effectively postal chess with one to five days to make a move depending on clock selection. Also, lots of learning resources. I bought a computer game, Chessmaster 2000 that I belive preceded HTML. I won 80% of my games in the chess club, but I could never beat the computer even at the lowest level. I played the game like actual combat and I thrived on being across the table. To me, it's an extremely personal game.

Well tearing up over Hallmrk movies is just a release of one of the many safety valves that keep people from making headlines or the evening news.

Just dropping it cold-turkey can be downright dangerous. Tried that once; don't recommend it. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Unexpected snow today, an unpleasant surprise. Only about an inch and the next days’ mid to high 40s should take care of it. Reminded me it was February after the balmy days we’ve just had.

Hey Hombre, you have given me a belly ache I have not had since I was a little boy! That came to mind post surgery. From the movie "Hombre". One of my favorite Westerns, John. I like pretty much everything Elmore Leonard wrote and Newman is superb in it. Frank Silvera always made every movie he was in better and often stole scenes with his portrayals of often minor characters. His Mexican bandit is classic and an almost sympathetic villain. Diane Cilento is magnetic and easy on the eyes. Boone’s Cicero Grimes is classically villainous. A great, great movie.

Sigh. My wife and I are keeping an eye on me. 👁️

Steady rain here all day, with temps in the low 50s. Same here, but stopping soon I hope. Having to run the AC with the fireplace to get the humidity down.

Great defensive game, and one of the best super-bowls in recent memory. Predictably, not a fan of the halftime show.

46F in the swamp following a day of close to 80F. Watched the Soper Bowl out of the corner of my eye. With same enthusiasm I normally reserve for the sleeping.

Were to Dr's office this morning before work. Blood pressure was good can't remember exact numbers but she was pleased. Had blood drawn to so I hope my cholesterol levels are also good as I've been taking my meds as prescribed and packing a lunch instead of eating gas stations food all week.

Back home following a colon re-sectioning on Friday. Some kind of record. Thank you for all the kind thoughts and wishes. Feeling good, no pain just do not punch me in the stomach or ask me to buck hay bales. Held together with staples.

So, if at the beach, I will just claim to have been shot twice with a .38 and stabbed once. That ought to keep the asshats off me....

Take it easy and just let yourself heal.

Back home following a colon re-sectioning on Friday. Some kind of record. Thank you for all the kind thoughts and wishes. Feeling good, no pain just do not punch me in the stomach or ask me to buck hay bales. Held together with staples. Did the surgeon think everything looked okay, other than the one tumor? How the tumor, size of a tennis ball, has affected the surrounding layers of the colon will be determined by a lab and the results disclosed in the surgery Pathology report, two to three weeks from now. CT Scans show abnormalities in some lymph nodes so there is a risk the disease has spread. No other growths were noted in the three scans previously but neither was this tumor. Blood tests have not indicated anything negative and I sure had plenty more of those these last three days. My hands are like pin cushions from all the needles. So, I shall see what has developed. I have been bitching about the pain in my gut since October of 2022. I am thankful to finally have a Primary Care MD who did something about this. The PC MD mentioned that colon tumors are slow growing so it is possible that there has not been spreading. If there is then Oncology and Chemo likely. Not something I am looking forward to but will take it as it comes. Thanks for asking.
