The news post Surgery was not as good as I had hoped. The surgery went well with a reasonable assurance all of the cancerous cells were removed from the colon by the procedure. Bad news is I have five lymph nodes which are cancerous. So, a referral to an Oncologist is indicated. That will be in a month as they want the surgery wounds to heal. Staples out but still restricted in activity for another few weeks. No more than eight pounds to lift. The risk is a hernia which often follows abdominal surgery in the over active patient. Hate the bad news John, but it sounds like the doctor is confident? Not looking good for the irrigation season is it?

The surgeon was confident that the cancerous cells in the vicinity of colon were removed. Not being an Oncologist, no prognosis for recovery elsewhere except in the most general terms. Likely I will resign from being Ditch Rider this season if undergoing Chemo therapy. We shall see. Small steps.

Well, like you said, John, the news could have been better. But, we still have to acknowledge it could have been worse, too. My grandmother had lymphoma back in the late 70s and beat it to live another 25 years or so in good health, and medical care is worlds better now. It can be done. Here's hoping you have a good meeting with the oncologist in a month. Take it from there. Thanks Urb.

I had to have my chest plated and bolted together because of it. Best wishes for a complete recovery.

We're with you all of the way, my friend. Let's take this one dr. visit and procedure at a time. You already have the colon part taken care of. Hang in there and here's hoping for the best.

AT&T is having pretty widespread outages in some big markets today.
I suppose some people are having huge withdrawal issues.

Heaven forbid if and when we have some sort of crash on the technology people place so much dependence on, the collective hair will be on fire and people will freak out. A good time to be living the remote life. 😉

Renewed my drivers license this morning, good till 2030 wish I was good for that too. Didn’t ask for proof of insurance, that’s why in Louisiana over 50% of drivers drive without insurance. Grey day but warm, might smoke one on porch today. Wish all the fellows well!

Small supply run (essentials only, case of Canadian on the list) plus a visit to the fang-carpenter. Dental cleanings? How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.

Well, it seems the new sleep med is not going to work out. It's making me break out in a rash. Itching is not the most conducive thing in the world to good sleep.
I left a message with the doc's office to see if he could call in something else for me to try.

If it had been working really well for me, I'd be frustrated, but it hasn't done more than make me mildly drowsy. How are you feeling about the world, today?

It’s not just online retailers that get burned. Stupid store policy’s can get some really creative returns. When I worked at Lowes we were told to not inspect a returned item so as to not insult a customer. If we did and they complained we would get reprimanded and possibly fired. We got cinder blocks in cabinet boxes, old broken cabinets in bath tub boxes, badly used wrong products in boxes from a different manufacturer and the slickest was a used ceiling fan in the box supposedly it didn’t work. No I guess it won’t if it’s the one that they were replacing. Even the used appliances they were replacing. Truly amazing! I used to say we made money in spite of ourselves... That was ten years or more ago, so it’s not a new scam the crooks are at...

When Amazon first came on the scene back in the late 90s and early aughts with its no-questions-asked, instant-refund return policy, it was a real boon for honest shoppers. Their customer support in general was absurdly good. It was probably also necessary to get their business model off the ground. Now that they dominate the retail world, they're squeezing out costs.
