Seems the Chemo has kicked in on the morning of day six. Feel like I was kicked by a mule! Went back to bed after the pills and slept for about 90 ,mimutes. Coordination is terrible. No other side effects. Keeping good thoughts going your way and this suffering will come to and end with a clean bill of health! Speaking of feeling (self inflicted) like I got kicked by a mule. A wee bit o’ consumption at the St Paddy’s brunch. The carving station was the most delicious corned beef and the green beer was flowing freely. Down for the count with the silver cap Pete House Pipe mrslax for me me in Dublin last fall!

Hey, we've got a freeze watch for tomorrow night. We might get that mosquito-killer I was hoping for, after all.

Gorgeous day, except that I am having my AC/heat replaced at the moment. Looking forward to jury duty tomorrow. 🙄

Raise your hand and ask if you will have time to communicate with the mother ship before a verdict is needed. Works every time.

I got picked for a sequestered jury in Feb. of 2020, literally right before COVID hit. Six days in a hotel with 13 of my closest friends. (That's 12 jurors and 2 alternates, both of whom ended up getting chewed out by the judge.) It was the most exhausting non-physical activity I've ever done, and I still wonder every couple of weeks if we did the right thing.

I have served on 2 or 3. Elected foreman twice. Mostly a good experience. I see it as my duty, especially as I would like to have someone like me on a jury if I was on trial. The average juror usually doesn't understand what they are supposed to do. In this hanging county, I may provide some restraint. I had to in Houston, as they wanted to throw the book at everyone.

These days they just turn them loose until they commit a crime so egregious the public cries out so loud they have to act.

I wouldn’t mind serving, but in every instance during the jury selection process, counsel for the defendant excuses me.
As I left, one such situation, the judge could tell that I was miffed, and asked why. I told him that I have no objection to serving, and no problem with not, but taking 4 days to tell me so is for the birds.

During the whole Covid fiasco some doctors had it right all along, and for whatever reasons, their voices were silenced… history is now, and will continue to be on their side. An easily understandable explanation in layman's terms about MRNA, spike proteins, and efficacy of other treatments that were far more effective in saving lives. Good information going forward on how to treat Covid, and more effective ways to limit transmission than wearing a mask. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/john-solomon-reports/id1495251160?i=1000649620972

I told him that I have no objection to serving, and no problem with not, but taking 4 days to tell me so is for the birds. It is what it is. I wasn't chosen, but I did my duty by showing up and being ready to serve. I have little respect for people who advise me on how to get out of jury duty. If they find themselves wrongly accused of a crime, they would surely change their minds. A lot of the people who showed up today had no idea of innocent until PROVEN GUILTY. And some of them were chosen. God grant that I never have to be tried in Cass County. Anyone thinking about stepping out of line needs to keep on moving on.

I always show up for jury duty when summoned it is not my fault if they refuse to place me on jury.

A neighbor took this photo of my place a few days ago. That is the barn I built back in '02. Mt. Blanca in the background. The southernmost of the Colorado 14s. Wild Horse Mesa on the right, to the east.

Got the yard mowed. The belt came off the deck before I finished so I had to finish with the little Lawnboy. Trying to get energy to find out why the wife's car won't start.

The dark stripes through the field. Looks like it used to be row crops or something.

Thanks, Urb. The fields here are irrigated mostly by flooding. Those lines are borders made by a Border Plow. About 14 to 16 feet between the borders. This keeps the water moving down the field inside. Otherwise the water would simply spread out and not go far into the field.

Too often the clouds drift by and the precip falls elsewhere.

Or, like rice fields before laser leveling, anyway.

Spending about a week with my hearing aids. 😢 My Phonak hearing aids came with a three year warranty. At the end of the three years, my audiologist can send them in to be refurbished and I get another three years of warranty. Unfortunately, I arrived at my audiologist yesterday morning and their two loaner sets are out on loan. I could have waited until a loaner set was available or I could have done them one at a time. I decided to bull through a week without because I want to make sure they’re done and back by when we go to see the eclipse in early April.

Does the eclipse make a sound? I am exercising my selective hearing more and more lately.
