Pleasure and Karate training so it was a combo of pleasure and pain, haha That's great. I tried to do Kuk Sul Wan with my son, as we had the international grand master in our neighborhood. He had a hard time paying attention to his sensei and his school work suffered so we pulled him out. He wanted to study fencing, so we found a fencing school with Olympic coaches. He wanted to start with broadsword. Same issues. I envy your relationship with your son. I just can't bring myself to play video games. I cannot do games either but karate I love. Its been a blessing to be able to train and teach with him the last 5 years but he is getting to the age that, outside the dojo, I’m not that cool anymore.

Off to Santa Fe to see my Oncologist, Dr. Ali. Friend is driving. Hoping I can induce him to stop for an excellent burrito at El Parasol or the Indian Taco in Pojoaque. My treat! Next door to El Parasol is the best liquor store I have been in. I was hoping to buy him a bottle of Himbergeist (Raspberry) Schnaps. The real stuff from The Fatherland. He enjoys is but not sure if he will allow the time.

Wow what a fool, and the shenanigans his attorneys did with the reporter. Given the same set of circumstances, I doubt any of us on the forum would have been offered that deal. Spot on about Karma.

It was a good trip with no serious problems noted, not new ones anyway. Did get to stop and bought my neighbor a Burrito and a bottle of Slivowitz as they were out of Himbergeist. Carne Guisada Burrito! It was worth a trip. No, we did not open it on the way home. I told him it was for his woodshop when he needs a nip.

Any mention of Slivowitz always makes me think of The Yiddish Policemen's Union, which is never a bad thing.

My daughter works for child protective services and her husband does federal cyber security they do very well of course they both are well educated. They just gave us our first grand child and already they have decided that Abeka education is the best plan. The money they make is out standing to say the least. My daughters long time friend Dianna is still struggling to find the right career path. I do not regret the sacrifices the wife and made to keep our daughter in private schools. We get to sit back now knowing we raised our daughter with a proper set of conservative values and a love for God and country. Most all the kids of our friends are doing great. It's the next generation that's struggling.

On this day, lest we forget.
Concord Hymn BY RALPH WALDO EMERSON Sung at the Completion of the Battle Monument, July 4, 1837
By the rude bridge that arched the flood, Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled, Here once the embattled farmers stood And fired the shot heard round the world.
The foe long since in silence slept; Alike the conqueror silent sleeps; And Time the ruined bridge has swept Down the dark stream which seaward creeps.
On this green bank, by this soft stream, We set today a votive stone; That memory may their deed redeem, When, like our sires, our sons are gone.
Spirit, that made those heroes dare To die, and leave their children free, Bid Time and Nature gently spare The shaft we raise to them and thee.

Good news Mike!
Years ago a friend of the family went in for some sort of routine procedure, and a blod clot traveled to the heart and that was it for her.
That blew everyone away, and was pretty depressing…I did not want to mention that prior to the surgery….

Today's routine pharmacy and hardware store run turned into a real adventure. Parked the car at CVS, came back out, car wouldn't start. No dash lights, nuttin'. Okay, so I checked the battery cable connections and jiggled them around. Progress...key-in-ignition warning bell sound when I opened the door. Hmmm...I placed a tow request with my insurance company's roadside assistance preparing for the worst. We're about two weeks away from getting another car and this junker conks out! Geezer intuition...hmmm...if just moving the battery cables a bit provided enough juice for the warning sound? Yep. I disconnected then reconnected the battery cables and it started back up. Been through this routine before. Cancel the tow truck, recliner time!
