It's 92° here with a partly cloudy sky right now. I had to go to the pharmacy a few hours ago and there's no reason for me to go outside again. Taking time to clean some pipes while watching the Mets vs Cubs game. Bet you appreciated that fancy a/c in the car. Love it!

Wow! I haven't thought of those places in years. My parents took me to Garden of the Gods, and Cave of the Winds in the 60s. I haven't been back that way since but have fond memories. We also went to the Buffalo Bill museum. It sounds like you had a nice time! You should consider a revisit, I can heartily recommend the lodge that we stayed at, very reasonable rates and floorplans to accommodate from 1 to 6 people, centrally located to everything. www.eaglefirelodge.com/Going to do a surprise revisit with the wife for fall colors or the snow… probably fall colors when the Aspen trees do their magic. Can I borrow some Arizona license plates?

A most welcome visitor! A Nprthern Saw Whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) dropped by to check up out today. One of my very favorite birds but the first in 20 years here. ![](https://i.postimg.cc/76swYkzG/Full-Size-Render.jpg)

It's 93° with a partly cloudy sky right now. A cool front is going to move through the region over the next few days that'll drop the daytime temperatures into the low to mid 80°s. Maybe I'll be able to get back to smoking a pipe on the deck again. I just came home from the supermarket and that's it for going outside. Watching the Mets vs Cubs game and tonight it'll be the Yankees vs the Braves.

More drenching rain this evening. Down the road there is a weekend long music festival going on with hundreds of RV and tent campers. I hope they, too, are enjoying the rain. Somehow, I doubt it.

I have been to a couple of concert events like that. At the 75 Willie Nelson 4th of July picnic, we were in a field of mud with a healthy infusion of manure. It was also 104 degrees. Several thousand of us stripped off and jumped in the river. It was a bad day but a good memory, if you know what I mean. Nudity means nothing in a situation like that. It's great that you are getting rain, right?

Under a heat advisory until 7pm Tuesday. It's not bad in the shade as long as you aren't trying to do anything.

Pretty much the same here in Denver. 93 but only 15% humidity. Still too hot to be out in for very long.

I thought since the temperature isn't in the 90°s today that I'd be able to get in a pipe out on the deck. Wrong. It's now too humid and rain can start any minute! At least the night will be cool enough to turn off the a/c and open the windows. Maybe.

Pretty toasty here, which is normal…
I have mon. and Tues. off, back to the rockpile on Wednesday, and my next vacation is scheduled Thanksgiving- Dec. 8th.
It is going to be a long hot summer, and I will be spending most all my time indoors when not working.

Around 97 here. I have been indoors all day, except for a brief tour of the front yard to see how much more damage the mole has done.

The tree crew will be here at 7am in the morning. Looking forward to getting the rotten monster tree out of the yard so I can mow without looking up.

77, sunny and not as humid today. Nice breeze off the lake. Edged, trimmed and mowed the front lawn. Taking a hydration break and finishing the pipe I started earlier.

But if you are not looking up you will not see the Government drone circling overhead watching you. The county pays a bounty for government drones. It's one tree and it's over a hundred yards from the house. It's feeling like 105 now and they're knocking off for the day. Plus, the bees in the hollow tree are swarming.
