I’m going to be quite busy for the week or so. So, no need to be concerned if my presence there is sparse for a bit.

In the world of AI we can see the decline of civilization as we know it. I just spent the better part of an hour trying to get customer service from Google for my FitBit replacement purchase made three weeks ago. Their website has no tracking of an order link that connects to their online store. It takes you to a forum to ask other lost souls for information that they cannot possibly help you with. Their phone number tells you that they are not taking calls at this time so please call back. No indication of what the call in hours are... So, I called back and got a young lady in the Philippines. After struggling to get through the language barrier she dutifully placed me on hold and promptly hung up on me.
When my blood pressure came back down I made a second attempt. What can I say, I'm a slow learner... On making contact and letting the young man know I was not happy my phone rings with a strange number, (Philippine country code), I place the boy on hold and answer it and it is the young lady calling me back! I dropped the boy off and let the lady complete her search for the missing order.
Several more very painful minutes and trying to bridge the language gap again she was diligent enough to figure out the challenge. My device is supposed to ship late in the month of June. It may be me, but, are we late in the month of June? Now I have to wait until next week when we past the last day of the month to get a further update.
I said all that to say this, In this day of online everything and dealing with the largest offenders of AI in the world, (Google), I was happy that I found a young person that was not just going to shuffle me off to oblivion. She took the time to deal with me, (I may have been a little cranky), in a professional way and wished me a happy day when we were done. If this was a call center in the US do you think I would have received a return call? The fact that she is more than 1/2 way around the world there was hardly a delay in the call activity. I have to say she went above when I feel that the company as a whole is not even at the starting line.
Vent Complete!!

That is unless they are all similar to the android "Data" on Star Trek: The next Generation. Humans these days seem barely able to handle this. I spent two days trying to get my mobile phone to work. Kept getting messages I am not registered on any network. Repeated calls to tech support. No success. So, I finally contacted the billing department and was promptly told I was one of 2,000 customers affected by an outage. Duh. It would have been helpful if the tech support people were aware of this.

I've had one experience so far with AI tech support and it was much better than the recent humans I have tried to get to answer questions.

Customer service has been in decline pretty much across all industries for a while.
Minor case in point, I'm still waiting for somebody to call me back about getting rid of the mole(s) in my yard. I've tried 4 different services. One of them got back to me to tell me they couldn't do anything about it. The rest, nada. Meanwhile, my yard is getting more and more damaged. I finally decided to try a consumer solution (more on that in the Mail thread).
I guess companies don't want business, anymore.

Moles are a real problem. Not much they can do that wouldn't cost thousands of dollars. If you want to spend hours every day trying to get rid of them, I don't have any suggestions. I used poison smoke bombs, CO gas, water flooding and random spikes. I sprayed the yard with insecticide 3 times to get rid of any food for them. Then last summer they were gone. I'm sure they didn't go far.

Don't know what it's like down your way Ron and Brad, but after a very wet May, we've had a very dry June. Things are getting a mite parched.

Wound care the day after surgery is a bad idea. Complete lack energy and took two breaks walking out of the place. I am not so sure about being bullet proof anymore!

Had 0.6 inches 4 days ago. The dew is staying on the grass until after 1pm. But it's a lot drier than the first 5 months. We're only 1.5 inches below or annual rainfall. No rain forecast for the next week with 100 degree days.

Down here the weather has started like my young days, very hot in morning and thunder showers in afternoon, very green here, cane looks lovely, crossing my fingers hurricanes don’t come our way, thinking that we’re gonna have a dry spell though.Weather man says we’re gonna have a record hot June, 90s all month.

Finally some relief from the heat here. Overcast and so cool you about need a light overshirt.
Tara and I are doing some garage saleing. I just know today's the day I find that rack of $5 Castellos.
Should get home to find my recent tobacco order on the porch.

It's 80° here right now with dense humidity. The weather service has issued a tornado watch for our county, but nothing reported as yet and still no rainfall.

I lived in TX for 5 years and this last week was comparable.

I never experienced that in the mountains. That's hotter than it's been here. Though it's still miserable in the afternoons.

Hot and humid, here. I want to mow before I put these mole repellers in the ground, but it's gonna have to wait.

Hot and humid, here. I want to mow before I put these mole repellers in the ground, but it's gonna have to wait. Sometimes I'm not overly bright. I realized a few minutes ago that if I drive the repellers down into the molehills, themselves, I won't really have to mow (or trim) around them; there's no grass growing on those, anyway.

Sure, why not. I might mention that they are supposed to work by disrupting their ability to hear very quiet insects under the ground, so that the firmer the soil, the better the sound should travel. I would suggest that you water the dirt to settle it after planting the "thumpers".

I would suggest that you water the dirt to settle it after planting the "thumpers". Most of the ones I used were older ones that have already settled, but there's a couple in looser ones. I'll water those in. Good thinking.
My original thought had been to distribute them evenly throughout the yard to maximize their coverage. The idea of taking advantage of the already dead spots took a while to occur to me.

Though it's still miserable in the afternoons. The higher the elevation the less atmosphere to block Ultraviolet radiation. So, it feels hotter because the skin is burning. At the peak of Summer the UV goes right through a cotton chambray shirt. So, I have to wear two.

Felt sick this afternoon and slept for a while. Then sitting at the computer, I figured out how to listen in to Taos County Central Dispatch. So far, a man severely cut his leg and bled out some, at a commercial camp site a dog was left behind, trespasser down in Carson, woman driving without a license. The drama never stops. . Actually, there is way more silence than radio traffic as one might expect for here.

It's quite pleasant all year at Jemez Springs and Los Alamo.
